Q. What is the opposite of punctuality? A. Me
Re: Q. What is the opposite of punctuality? A. Me
I totally get what this poster is saying having struggled with this myself. And YES I AM also trying to change. It's difficult. I think I underestimate how long things will take me. And I'm frustrated and embarrassed about it because the thing is, I do value other people's time. That's why I get super stressed the minute I am late. These suggestions are helpful, especially the one about absolutely leaving the house at a certain time, no matter what.
I am also disorganized and trying to change that too. These things do not come natural to us just as some things might be not come natural to you. Maybe some of you are annoying your coworkers and friends by clock watching. That is not "grown up" at all. (So and so is late again....wah!!) I had one employee who kept a journal of how many times one guy showed up late. Not cool and very immature. Also, at this job, we set our schedules.
Time management just doesn't "come" naturally to some people and the poster is asking how to work on it. That's all. She's not trying to make excuses for all of your tardy friends and coworkers. I am excited to use these suggestions to improve my own situation and show up on time.
I agree with the above. I hate when people are late and I always give myself enough time and do the same routine every single morning so I know I'm on track. Don't do things in the morning like check emails, watch tv, etc. Just shower, get dressed and go to work. Have everything prepared the night before and just leave your house.
