Cuteness overload.  In this vain, MM would judge me for buying this:

    http://www.amazon.com/Lippmann-Collection-Nail-Lacquer-Romance/dp/B0040ZU9AW

I haven't bought it yet, but Im on the verge of pressing the button.

  • Somehow I can justify $15 dog collars with bowties (a regular dog collar isn't that much less), but I could never buy an $18 bottle of nail polish. That's crazy.

    but its soooooo puuurty.

(although, your point is exactly why I haven't pressed the button yet, but I have tried to get if for cheaper on ebay.)

In an attempt to torture you, I google image searched family cloth.

    This came up:

That is what you think it is. They call that mama cloth. Never ever trying it. I will whore myself out to pay for tampons, if I am that desperate.

  • *ignoring anything in this post with the words family or cloth in it.

I'm sure MM would judge me for LOTS of things.  The absolute biggest though is the one I kick myself for every day, buying a house in a location we knew was a temporary for us for purely emotional reasons.

  • If you watch sales for paper products and coupon, I bet it would completely end more or less in a wash (pun not intended but welcomed) with the water bill you'd have from using family cloth and cloth in the kitchen. If not, you wouldn't be saving THAT much.

I have an iPhone that I expense 50% for work, so I guess they'd judge the other 50%.

We don't always stick to the budget. If we want something and agree on it, we get it.

I didn't save for retirement while I paid off the debt.

We don't DIY much. Half the time it ends up costing the same between money and time.

HAHA! I had to jump in, because I actually have a few of those. And use them, occasionally (mostly rely on the Diva Cup). I just don't typically flaunt the info because, understandably, people have the Ick! reaction. They actually are a lot comfier than disposables.

Judge away. I'm totally ok with it. Stick out tongue

  • Rai & Laner- doesn't it get stained? Is it as absorbant as a disposable pad?

  • The thought of wearing a pad at all grosses me out let alone a reusable pad. Sitting in a diaper of my own period blood? *vomit face*

I haven't had a problem with staining, but mine are also a pretty dark color, which could have a lot to do with it. As for absorbency, I would guess that no, they are not as absorbent, simply because of the gels disposables use to make them insanely absorbent, but I can't say for sure because I only have a few pantyliners and I don't use them as my main system. (ETA: wow. holy run-on sentence)

LB - Yea,  I'm not a huge fan of pads in general either. I HATED using them when I used disposables. I still don't use my cloth ones if I can avoid it, but they're (surprisingly) not nearly as gross-feeling as disposables are. Definitely the lesser of two evils, but not my first pick.

ITA. I can get on board with the Diva Cup but only because it doesn't have that "oh God, I'm bleeding all over myself" feeling.

Wait until you have a child and are told use pads until cleared at your PP visit. Ick!

  • I've always used pads, I've tried every brand and size tampon I could find over the past however many years and they just aren't comfortable. But the thought of a rag kind of grosses me out. I guess if it was a super light day it wouldn't be too bad.

I was thinking the same thing.  Postpartum bleeding is obnoxious.

This almost exactly for me.  Im usually really light, so I just use reusable panty liners when Im tired of the Diva Cup.  I haven't had any problems with staining either.
