B&M

Well, I have a test Thursday that I'm not entirely sure how to prepare for.

And Friday night sucked for us! We went to see EYB at Lone Star Park and what a waste of money. It was too many people for that venue, and way too many 16 year olds.

Oh well. The rest of the weekend was pretty good.

Re: B&M

  • Sorry EYB wasn't a good time Summer, I know you were looking forward to it. I have found that all ages venues (Ranch Bash, Lone Star Park, etc.) are horrible places to see Texas country artists. We went to Ranch Bash a few years back and the kids were crowd surfing...with boots on. I was kicked in the back of the head hard and passed out right in the center of the front section. I got to spend the night in the ER. We had been there all day and it was right before the two closing acts went on - it sucked so much. Since then we only see bands in venues with real tickets/seating.

If we have 5 parking spaces at work and 5 people who work here, what makes you think it is okay to park in the middle of two spaces? My car is half on the sidewalk today, thank God it's tiny. Argh.

  • Ew, I dislike LSP concerts simply because of all of the kids!

    OMG! That's insane!

The funny part was 90% of the people there weren't even old enough to bet on horses.

Y'all are killin me lately, this board seems to be getting more boring by the day. You're all going to force me to move elsewhere.

  • I agree, Summer. I feel like people are losing interest...
  • My B&M is that the stress of job hunting is really getting to me.  I am having trouble sleeping now and just have a lot of anxiety about it.  I hate feeling like this!

  • I have been off allergy meds since last Thursday because I'm going to get tested tomorrow and my head has been killing me.

  • I have found that I have been spending more time lurking/sporadically posting on Getting Pregnant than I have over here, which bums me out quite a bit as there is only so much talk about conception without it getting repetitive.

Wednesday last week was crazy busy here -  a ton of threads/posts but the rest of the week was just eh...I am boring in life right now, so I don't know how to fix it.

Are you constantly looking for jobs in your free time?  When I got to the point that I wanted to pull my hair out, I had to relax on the search a bit and I have a list of places that I'm interested in and will check daily or every few days so I don't drive myself insane.  I also notice that when I look for a long amount of time at once, I can get pretty depressed about the whole situation.

  • Um it's Monday, I have a slight headache and my DH & I got off on the wrong foot today.   BOO

Yea I am.  I am just stressed because I know that I only have this full-time job until the end of the month.  So it's not like I have the luxury of keeping my job while looking for another one.  I am going to have to drop to part-time here and then try to find the money for bills elsewhere.  I agree....if I look for too long I get really depressed about it.

  • Nothing to specific about this day or past weekend to B&M about...

I am depressed that I have to wait for November before I get a vacation...BAD idea to wait a year inbetween vacations...but I learned this time so we already have one booked for May 2012 as well....every 6 months is the plan :)

  • Sorry the concert sucked Summer and that is crazy Leslie.

The boards have been very slow lately.

    My B&M

I wore a skirt that I think is probably better for winter because it had this lining on it that does not breathe and I am feeling a little on the toasty side.

Also, I realized last week from the ring post that I am probably in for a life time of ring problems since I NEVER tkae mine off.  I thought over the weekend about starting to take it off but I just cant.  I have only had my band since April and I have already lost 2 diamonds and the band is starting to yellow.  This will be the last time I b*tch about it though since I now realize it is likely my fault.

  • I don't have much to B&M about, except that I'm sleepy.  I went to bed at 10.30, and could barely drag myself out of bed at 7.30.  I know you may be thinking that's too much sleep, but lately it's been the same story regardless of what time I go to bed.  And also, still no definite answer on when DH gets to come home.

Happy (WR) story for your Monday:  I have this aunt who was in a terrible marriage for years.  I'm talking, 30+ years.  He was a scumbag, and cheated all the time, and walked all over her... well, she finally left him, maybe 5 or so years ago.  She's had a couple crappy relationships since then - nothing to ever make her happy.  Well, on Saturday, she got married to a man she's known her whole life (they went to grade school together) whose first wife is deceased.  (He asked her kids for permission to ask her to marry him.)  They were both so unbelievably happy at the wedding, everyone wanted to laugh and cry at the same time because it was just so sweet.  After the preacher pronounced them husband and wife, they exited to a standing ovation... it was seriously one of the sweetest, best weddings I have ever been to.  And they put it together in about 6 weeks.

Is there any reason why you don't want to take it off?

I agree you're going to be able to take better care of it if you take it off for things like showering, cooking, swimming, cleaning, working out, etc.

  • Not much to B&M about here.  We have water - hooray.  I'm pretty busy today, so I may not be on much.  I like busy days - most of the time.

This story makes me really happy. My mom was married to my crazy ex-stepdad for 20 years and got divorced a couple of years ago. She has since met a man that treats her like a queen and they are gross in love with each other. They have been dating for a year and I am just waiting to hear from him about asking to marry her any day.

I agree you're going to be able to take better care of it if you take it off for things like showering, cooking, swimming, cleaning, working out, etc.

The main reason is because I have lost 3 different rings and one pair of earrings (not custume jewelry either) during times when I didnt have them on.  I lost one ring and the earrings somewhere in our last apartment and never found them and the other two rings I lost in public.

I am just really bad with misplacing things in general and even worse when its something small and I cant even fathom the thought of losing one of my rings.  The only three pieces of jewelry that are important to me I wear 24/7 which are my wedding band and e-ring and the earrings Matt bought me.

The other reason which isnt nearly as big of a factor as the first is I just feel naked without it, they are like an extension of me.

I don't think it's necessarily you, Bobbileigh.  I shared how much I don't wear mine and it's been going yellow since the beginning.

As for losing them, my grandmother bought us this Willow Tree box and we put our rings in there or I have a jar in the kitchen where I put them.

  • I'm getting a late start this morning.  I woke up at like 2am with my head pounding so hard.  My entire left side was throbbing.  It's still hurting and I'm sick to my stomach but I'm at work now.  Other than my head feeling like it's gonna explode I had a great weekend and don't have much to B&M about!

  • Angie, that story gave me goosebumps!  How sweet!

B&M:  1.) I am sunburned BAD and it hurts!  2.) I fell asleep while I was watching the Real Housewives of OC Reunion last night.  It was just getting good too!

I keep mine in the same little box any time I'm at home. It's just a habit. So mine wouldn't ever be anywhere else at home besides that box.

I would suggest buying a little ring box or something where you can keep them when you're home so you always know where they are. And I don't see any reason to take them off in public. You're right, that's asking to have them lost.

    Just my suggestion.

  • My B&M is that I have to go to the GYN today.  Joy.

I am really busy at work.  We have trial in August and are just generally busy so I feel like I just can't keep up with the threads like I used to.  But I don't want anyone to leave--that would make me sad.  :(

I can't imagine taking my ring off on a regular basis.  I'm just like Bobbieleigh--I feel weird without it.  But I do bang it on stuff all the time.  I'm really clumsy in general and I feel like it does take a bit of a beating.  The only thing I've done so far though is bend a prong and we got that fixed.

I need to start looking at those as well.  And if I have to, I'll take two part time jobs.  I know it will work out somehow and I am trying to remain positive.
