How old were you when you had your first child?

Re: Curious. Question.
I apologize I did think of that, but I figured they would just say none or something. I wanted an idea of at what age people on here most specifically people associated with military life chose(or not) to start a family. Sorry for the confusion.

A lot of different factors play into that. For example, I should have had my first at 20. But I lost that baby early on. Also, you have to consider the age that the person got married at. And, with the constant change of schedules, it may take longer for some couples to concieve.
Edited because I didn't complete my thoughts.
I wasn't involved with military life when I had my first child at 20.

I was 34 and DH was 32 when we got married--first marriage for both of us. We are not the norm when it comes to marriage and family, military affiliated or not. While I think waiting to get married and start a family is generally a good idea, I would not advocate waiting as long as we did. Though we did not purposely wait, we met "later" than most. Once we started dating, we moved rather quickly. While rushing is never advisable, because of the nature of our relationship and our maturity, it was less concerning and not alarming to our family and friends. We had hoped to start our family sooner than we did, but having three years as a couple before the birth of our son was beneficial for us (we could have done without the stress of infertility and deployment though. . . ).

27 and no kids.
I was 21 when I got my dog, and she's pretty much my child. :P
We have no kids, but are talking about stopping prevention when DH returns from his impending deployment, which will be his last. I will be 24 when he returns and we begin to try.
I only have one friend here who has no kids or is not currently pregnant, and many of my friends (generally aged between 22 and 25) have more than one child.
ETA: I did get pregnant when I'd just turned 22 (at nearly two years of marriage), but miscarried. It was not a planned pregnancy, though.
Yeah! You tell her, Stan!
