Another Poll: Work or SAH?
Re: Another Poll: Work or SAH?
This.
Like bpaullo, I own my own business and do that 3 days a week, then am a SAHM two days a week. Between the business, helping my mom with my family's marina, taking care of Charlotte, getting the house in order from moving, and being a wife/doing household stuff, yeah...not so much. I pop in every so often in between stuff I'm doing at home on the days I AM at home, but most days I briefly get on the computer in the morning and then not again until evening time. I barely find time to do stuff I need to do, so not what I would consider "free time".
And it's about to get even busier once I revamp my business and start again, and am a partner in the marina...holy crap.
I work outside the home full time.

i work.
i tend to go stir crazy at home for more than a few days
SAH with two children and one on the way.
I am way too busy with my schedule of watching my soaps, eating bon-bons, talking on the phone and cocktail hour to be bothered with The Nest.
I guess technically I SAH but I don't sit on my @ss eating bonbons all day. Being a SAHM is a 24 hour a day job (yes, a JOB!).
Feel free to borrow my kids if you get bored!
I like that you still make time for cocktail hour at 37 weeks. Priorities!!
So Tasty, So Yummy
I'm a SAHM but my (almost) 2 y/o is a perfect angel. She never gets into anything and will play all day by herself. She even makes her own meals. I have a few maids that come and do the cooking, cleaning, and laundry. I also have a side business but my assistant completes all the designs and gets everything ready to ship so I don't mess up my freshy manicured nails.
Oh wait... you were serious?!? Free time? Seriously? I wish!

Ditto. Before I had DS I thought I could keep him home with me the days I work from home. One month in to maternity leave and I knew he would be there full time. We are up at the crack of dawn and don't rest until at least 9:00. Then it is time to get things ready for the next day so we can start all over again. Oh, and I work more after DS has gone to bed. That is the downside of being able to work remotely.
