What was your wedding song you and DH danced to? And any story behind why you chose it?
Re: Fun poll
Ours was "Take me out to the Dancehall" by Pat Green.
We met at a dance club and (when we had free time) enjoyed going out country dancing and doing some jitterbug, so it kind of just fit.
"We are in Love" by Harry Connick, Jr.
Our "song" was more of a joke: "99 luftballons" and not exactly first dance material. We both like HC,jr so we just settled on that.
Ours was "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain. We thought the lyrics really expressed how we felt about one another.
Now I sing it to my kids
Dh doesn't dance.... and we're not mushy music people...
Dean Martin & Frank Sinatra - That's Amore
Dh and I are both 50% Italian. My Dad and FIL are 100% Italian. Our entire wedding was VERY Italian. Our wedding web site was www.ourbigfatitalianwedding.com... In fact, if you changed the Greek movie to be Italian, that would have been us. I'm sure my parents had to give his chickens or goats or something. My dad thinks he the "The Godfather"... Yes, we are strange.
To Make You Feel My Love by Garth Brooks.
Strange, too, because neither of us like country music much. But we heard it on Hope Floats and the lyrics of the song pretty well describe our relationship.
"In My Life" by the Beatles.
Kieth Urban-Memories of Us.
No story really. Just liked it and it fit good.

"The Sweetest Love" by Robin Thicke
We just loved the song
but we came out on Crazy in Love by Beyonce!
ETA: I just looked up the lyrics and am all verklempt about DH. Must be the hormones from that time of the month.
me and You by Kenny Chesney. the lyrics are beautiful and it is a sweet and simple song, kind of like us.
we also struggled with a couple of Harry connick jr. songs but in the end the entire backdrop music while guests were mingling and eating was HC When Harry Met Sally soundtrack and a few extras. we even cut the cake with Recipe for Making Love playing.
- Paula Deen to 104.1 KRBE's Producer Eric 9/17/2011
Initially it was supposed to be "Stolen" by dashboard confessional. I wanted something different and I love alt rock. BUT I went to a brown bag concert at Chick-fil-A with my sister and Bethany Dillon (Christian) was playing that night. She sang a song, "Ask me for my love," and I told my sister that, that was the song I was going to dance with my hubby at my wedding.
I met DH a year later! lol...
I really wanted Garth Brooks, To Make You Feel My Love, Hope Floats is one of my all time faves but when it came time to pick the song, I couldn't think of it. Blegh... Now we dance in our living room to that song.
I Do - Mark Wills
Angel by Jack Johnson.
Hubby is a huge Jack Johnson fan and he came home one day and said I had to hear this song and it was perfect for our first dance. I laughed at him thinking it would be some weird song... I was amazed. it was perfect!

The lyrics pretty much describe how we feel. As soon as we heard it, we knew it would be our song.
Rest of Forever by Dude Mowrey.
I love Dude Mowrey, he had a short lived career but he was awesome nonetheless. I was totally floored when we were friends and he actually knew who it was and had his "tape"! (Which he converted to CD for me.)LOL One night (before we were dating), we were taking my friend home to her apartment complex and waiting for her to come back out and he turned it on in his truck and we danced in the parking lot (at 3am). I knew then, eventually we'd get married. (and it scared the bejeezus out of me!)
We couldn't really go with the song that we first danced to when we had met many many years before we dated b/c it was "The Weekend" by Steve Warner. Not really "first dance" material. LOL
"Inevitable" by Anberlin, the acoustic version (though we love both versions)
This is the chorus:
"I wanna be your last, first kiss; That you'll ever have I wanna be your last, first kiss"
DH put it on a mix CD (which sounds so like making a mix tape...lol) for me when we were in college. It was a collection of songs that expressed how he felt and this one ended up as one of my favorites (I hadn't heard it before).
He's much more of a music junkie, so he handled a lot of the music selection for the reception and chose this one (and I thought it was perfect).
"I will be here" by Steven Curtis Chapman
DH picked it and said it was exactly how he felt. I love it!
"I will be here"-Steven Curtis Chapman
I was doing a show called "Family Outings" not long after we started going out. The director used that song and we felt it was really appropriate. How no matter what comes through the years, I will be here (for you). Dh would come to all the rehearsals and we'd sit together and hold hands everytime the song was played. of coursed i bawled everytime, too. It's very appropriate for us with everything we've gone through together.

I loooove both those songs! I had an ex-bf that was obsessed with finding the Dude Mowrey cd/tape, since it went out of production. I now have two copies I got off of Ebay.
I agree "The Weekend" is not first dance material, although it is one of my all time favorite songs. I
Steve Warner!
Our 1st dance song was "I knew I loved you" by Savage Garden. I think if I could go back, I'd change it because I always have to look up the song when asked this question! lol
This.
We both got married around the same time right? 2001?
Crazy Christmas Kids!
I love it!
