Re: Thrusday Randoms
Cool! GL if you decide to go for it!
Well, how convenient!
I think I would watch a condensed version of a reality show that pitted Putin against Palin.
Genius, yes?
Brilliant! Oh, the weapons! And the stunts! And the photo shoots! And they can see each other from their front yards, so there's that.
Funniest line of the week!
I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE back to school shopping. I have been coupon clipping and sale watching all summer. I think I'm pretty well stocked.
GRSP: Our school requires kids to bring nothing. We aren't a wealthy district. Exactly the opposite. We are at 65% free & reduced lunch, so we can't really expect kids to bring supplies when they can't pay for food.
Also: Sometimes I feel REALLY guilty for loving my job so much. It's hard to explain how I "want" to leave my child and go to work. I really thought I'd want to be a SAHM and I was pretty upset when I actually got a teaching job. However, I feel a lot more fulfilled having a career. It's hard to explain that to my friend's who are SAHMs who don't understand why I would want "someone else to raise my child." :eyeroll:
Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilarious!
I'm glad to hear this. It's refreshing to hear a mom talk about how much she enjoys her job. Just because you work doesn't mean you're less of a mother than SAHM's. I enjoy my job (most days anyway), and I can't personally picture myself as a SAHM and often get discouraged when I hear SAHM's talk badly about working moms. Career moms and SAHM's are equal IMO, they just have different "day" jobs
No shame!
If I got paid more in my position I would still be working! I loved my job, but when it came down to it...it just did not make sense to work to pay day care. I would have been making about $50 a month! HA! So, alas..the decision was made. I think any MOM, working or not are equal as well.
I am soo glad I am not the only one who feels this way. I just don't get it!
I NEED to be working. I love my kid to death but I need adult time. Working part time would be perfect, but that's not an option I have.
I've been both a working mom and a stay at home mom. I've loved both, and been really frustrated by both.
I've also come to the conclusion that working moms and stay at home moms think the other camp is thinking and/or talking about them way more than they are.
You speak (um, type) the truth.
I guess I didn't realize that people think this or do this. Or I just don't care. Live and let live, people.
I spend so much time worrying about myself and my family, I don't have time to worry about other people. I guess since I'm so self-absorbed, I just assumed everyone was like me. lol.
I love the irony of it all.
H got me a DVD of episodes of the Ed Sullivan show staring The Beatles, complete with the commercials from 1964-1965. OMGoodness, the commercials are SO ridiculous, I love it. But at the same time, it makes me sad for our grandmas.
