do you have a home phone?
Re: do you have a home phone?
No landline for the past 5 years.
I'm considering getting one though, there have been a few times when I've really needed (storm, intruder) my cellphone and it has not worked due to signal issues or general lack of working.
Jax, if you have not already register your land line on the Do Not Call registry. It cuts the telemarketer phone calls down a lot.
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted and used against you. My Blog
are you bundlers with comcast?
maybe i need to just switch to comcast phone instead of AT&T landline. DH pays the bills, but i noticed recently while looking through our checking register that the landline service we have is $100!!! dude. that's crazy.
we have a fax machine, but never fax anything. if i need to receive a fax, i can have it sent to my postal store and pay them $2.
the kids never answer the house phone anyway, because they have cell phones.
in the storm circumstances, do the cable-phone landlines still work?
we always evacuate to my mom's anyway, and she'll never get rid of her landline.

At the very least, you need to call AT&T for a better deal. We don't have ours bundled with our Uverse (long story), but even so, it's only like $40 a month, including unlimited long distance, call-waiting, etc.
Ours didn't after Ike.
We had one in our previous house, but did not keep it when we moved. We got so many wrong number collection calls, that it was ridiculous. I rarely used it, so we let it go.
if its digital phone that requires the modem to work, then no, it doesnt work unless you have power. some will have a battery backup that gives you about 4 hours (for short outages) but after that, you have no phone.
So Tasty, So Yummy
Although I didn't think of it until know, this is pretty much 95% of our home phone use!
Ditto all of this!!
We got rid of ours a couple of months ago & I desperately miss it for this reason.
Click it if you can't say it!
we dont have one, because is too cheap to pay for one!
If it were up to me, I would have a land line. I prefer business calls on a land line for some odd reason!

These kind folks will call your phone for you. I use it all the time.
We haven't had a landline in a year, but we just got a Magic Jack because my MIL has zero reception in our house, but DH and I get reception just fine.
