Re: AW/Chit Chat Thursday!
Leslie - that is AWESOME! Congratulations.
BL - I'm so glad they are keeping Matt on. Fabulous news.
Amanda - Oh no - sending lots of T&Ps your way.
I was sad about TN, too. But, I also got a ton of stuff done this morning. Hmm... what does this mean?
Hey Ladies, I haven't been around much this week (and didn't even notice TN was down) but wanted to say hi!
Leslie - The first thought when I saw your picture was "skinny minnie!" You look great girl! Also, you posted something on Monday about your grandma falling, is she okay? Sorry if you've already said something, I haven't read the past few days.
Amanda, good vibes to you and your mom. I hope things go well.
BL - So glad to hear the positive news about Matt's job!

I also wanted to ask if any of you volunteer with an organization that deals with kids? I've been active in the Labrador Rescue group for a few years, but I would really like to do something with kids. Unfortunately I don't have enough time to be a good Big Sister, but I'm looking for something where I can go read to kids who are in the hospital, or do arts and crafts with kids who need someone to spend some time with them, etc.
I'm looking around, but curious if any of you are already participating in an organization. Thanks!

I volunteered with Communities in School of North Texas for 2 years and really enjoyed it. I was a mentor, helped with homework center after school twice a week, helped with their summer camp and various field trips. The only reason I stopped was because of this job but with a new boss, I have been thinking about asking him if we could work something out because they don't necessarily meet on your lunch break.
Congratulations on all the AWs!
I pretty much ratted someone out to a higher up yesterday and it felt good and it was a long time coming. She has messed things up so badly that it is one and a half days until school starts and we have no idea who is showing up. She won't return my phone calls (wouldn't even before I ratted her out so not anything new). It is so frustrating and annoying and I'm worried that the parents are taking this confusion as a sign of things to come and that I am the one who is not organized and will then pull their kids out of my class. That affects me directly and my future.
Currently listening to "Mercedes Benz" by Janis Joplin.
I'll admit I wasn't exactly down about TN being offline because then I wouldn't miss so much with work being insane!
Congrats everyone! Woohoo Leslie on the weight loss, the job (Bobbileigh) and that's all I can remember at this point, sorry.
My AW's: we finally have a student assistant that doesn't just take up space. She does stuff, it's pretty wonderful. I made risotto for the first time last night and while it didn't come out like you see on tv, it was really good- it's always been a dish that intimidates me. Actually we had a pretty great meal last night: honey jalapeno salmon, lemon risotto and green beans. I'm having leftovers for lunch today and tomorrow.
Congrats Leslie! I haven't been around long but I'm sure it has been a long road & you have worked really hard!
Our apartment manager wants to show our apartment to a prospective tenant tomorrow. It is currently a mess with boxes and clothes everywhere....do I clean up?
Consolidate as much as possible, to corners of the room, etc. But I wouldn't try to hide the boxes or anything like that!
I have washed/ironed/folded all of our clothes and they are just sitting on our bed, I may pack them today (a week before I wanted to). We are currently sleeping on our pull out couch (because the clothes are on the bed) but I don't plan on putting it away!
At least our apartment shows how much stuff you can get into a small space.
Maybe I misread this, are you asking for no seaweed and no waves OR do you want no seaweed with waves?
Thank you! Yes, my great-grandmother is doing well. She didn't break anything and only bruised her ego, so we are very thankful!
LOL sorry if that sounds weird. Would prefer a clear and calm beach. No seaweed and no waves. A little is OK, just not in excess. HTH!
I know there is another Temptations in Cancun...I don't know anything about it other than several people at the one in Cabo said they enjoyed the one in Cancun too.
