Re: Say say say- Anything
There have been no less than 3 emails mass communications about how our employees on the East Coast need to take precautions and stay safe blah blah blah. It's a cat 2 storm people. I think they believe the wall of water from 2012 is coming.
Hugs!!!!
Crazy Christmas Kids!
So friends have been posting their or their friends/ brother/ sister/ father's etc American Idol experience. I have seen three people who tried out in overalls.
Not only are you giving Texas "that" image but do you really want to be the person in the bad takes? I know it worked for William Hung but urghhhh.
Thanks ladies. Me, A and DH are heading up tomorrow. A lovely 11 hour drive. I'm so glad we got to see him earlier this month. My sister and I had to bring stuff to my grandmother there who was moving into an assisted living place. I said when leaving I wonder if this is the last time we see her? And yet it was the last time we saw him. He came home from a run last night told my aunt he didn't feel good and died of a heart attack. Total shock, he was in great shape and only 57.
Oldest DD made the junior high volleyball team!
I am so proud of her.
I have a sore throat too and can freaking guarantee you I am not pregnant!
Hear that? Me neither because school started today! I can work in peace for a few hours!
Crazy Christmas Kids!
Way to go Oldest DD!
Woohoo! Congrats to her!
that's awful! so sorry for your family's loss
AP, I am so sorry for your loss. So very sorry... I know what it's like to lose someone suddenly, and far too soon. Peace and comfort to you and your family.
FKB, how exciting : ) That's going to be so much fun!
My grandma is having some issues. She fainted a couple of weeks ago, so she spent some time in the hospital while they tried to figure out what was wrong. She's on Coumadin for prevention of strokes, but has a bleeding ulcer (possible cancerous lesion) in her stomach so they thought the blood loss caused the fainting. She was fine last week, but fainted again last night and luckily had her life-alert button on and pushed it for paramedics.
So she's back in the hospital. The docs are worried that her "ulcer" is a slow growing cancer, but she's 90 years old and pretty much told them she is absolutely under no circumstance doing any kind of surgery, chemo, cancer treatment, etc. and that when it's her time, it's her time, and she's lived a good life.
I'm not 100% sure what to even pray for here. I just want her to be comfortable and happy until her time comes, I guess.
my photography blog
Jax - I'm sorry.
That is such a tough situation for family.
I am so freaking tired today. It has everything to do with the amount of sangria I drank yesterday. Then I stayed up far past my usual bedtime.
Those are fantastic.
If you decide to go with that theme, I have some Star Wars birthday stuff left over from DH's birthday party. I'd be happy to pass it on to you if you want. I didn't want to throw it away, but we have zero use for any of it anymore.
so annoying, its like if its not a safety concern but was poor design/construction, the consumer is screwed. we had the same sort of situation. DH's truck window driver and passenger have both, on multiple occasions, stopped working. Its like it comes off the track so it wont go up/down. He found all kind of complaints of the exact thing online for his model/year but Ford won't recall and its not covered under warranty so he's had to pay to get it fixed each time. grrr
Pretty much. Except IMO it's a huge safety concern. Huge chunks of plastic come off every few days so eventually there will be nothing to hold on the interior door handle and it will fall off, causing us to have to open the drivers door from the outside. It's not even like it's a back passenger door that doesn't get opened from the inside. It's the driver side front door.
It's a 2005 with 85k miles on it, so we're way out of warranty too. And apparently this is such a common problem that new door panels are on backorder for like forever and used ones from the junkyard are hard to come by because everyone else with a Jeep is looking for one too. Awesome.
I had both the door handle and the window mechanism quit working at various times on my old Ford truck. Such a pain in the ass. Fortunately they were both issues DH could fix/replace but still so annoying.
I'm bummed for DD and a little upset at the school.
Every girl that tries out for volleyball makes a team, whether it is the A or B teams that actually play in the games against other districts or the C team that plays only in-district on Saturdays.
Friday she was told she had made the A or B team, but the coaches needed more time to sort the girls into those two teams so they would find out today.
Today she was told she had been moved to the C team. I haven't actually talked to her yet so I have no idea if she is upset, but part of me is upset for her.
Of course I won't raise the issue with the school but I just think it seems a little unfair. I know that life isn't fair and it's a lesson to be learned but still, as a mom it's hard to see your kids learn them sometimes.
I'd be sad too if I were you. No fun to see your kids hurting.
No.
I also think it's weird that my uncle buys cards for my grandmother, writes her long, rambling letters, takes pictures of them (or scans them I'm not sure which) and posts them on FB. There are cards for the holidays (Easter anyone?) and "just because".
My grandma died in March.
I think it's weird and super unhealthy. But I also think my uncle is batshitcrazy.

What's wrong with this picture?
88 degrees? Rain?
It's gotta be a mistake.
Clearly all the weather people have gone mad. I blame the heat.
Either that or they're just fvcking with us all. Laughing, laughing, laughing at how excited everyone is about the possibility of 1/4 inch of rain and normal temps.
Duchess I think it's entirely appropriate that the rare occasion of rain this year would be over labor day weekend.
That said all I want to do is chill/sleep this weekend anyway, lol.
Jax - I am praying for comfort for your grandma and for you. Strength and comfort and lots of hugs from me.
