Re: Friday Eve Randoms

  • Two weeks ago, my sister's boyfriend bought her a car.

    Yesterday, he dumped her.

I ovbiously only know one side of the story, but she claims that she woke up at 4:30 am to make him breakfast before work even though he told her not to, he got out of the shower to find her cooking the eggs and sausage and yelled at her because he told her not to, so she left the kitchen with everthing still cooking, the fight escalated and he told her maybe she should move out and she said maybe she would, and then they didn't talk or a day and then last night he said he was done.  (Run on sentance of the year, huh?)

It was very strange because it was so out of character for him.  And they seemed to get along so great and both seemed very happy.  Then bam.

  • Wow, that's a crazy break-up story, Molly.  That's too bad.  Do you think it's for good?
  • My boss and I are not friends on FB.  But we have two mutual friends (one is a coworker and one is not).  And that's a little too close for comfort for me.  Because she can see when and what I post to those people.  It's weird.  Not a big deal, obviously, just kind of weird.
  • Also, Thursday's should permanently be renamed Friday Eve.  I like that, Molly!
  • On no.  That's pretty abrupt.  Hope she recovers okay.

So... what's up with the randoms title?

    Also?  Holy crap, it's September.

He made it FB official this morning.  Ha. Stick out tongue

I don't know.  Honestly?  I hope so.  He's showing his true, stubborn, unreasonable colors.  She hopefully sees the red flags and runs.

It's so unlike him though.  I wonder if he met someone else or something.  It's completely out of left field.

She is pretty devasted, but she'll recover.

I am getting bored with the regular random titles so I try to change it up a bit.

    Hello, September.  :)

I know how that goes!  Other people's break-ups can be so baffling.

  • Has your sister been with him for a while?

Her side of the story is so abrupt that I would hope she doesn't consider a reunion in the future.  Something's up.  Now she has to deal with the suddenness and the saddness at the same time.  That'll be rough.

They've only been together since May.  They were friends for about 2 years before that.

I hope they don't get back together.

  • The title to today's randoms made me all confused this morning.  I couldn't figure out if it was Friday or not.  Obviously I need more sleep.  Sleep

D&M, that is a very interesting break up.   I am always amazed when people just throw in the towel so quickly.

  • Molly...yikes.  My first yikes was "he bought her a car after 3 months of being together?"  that never seems to work out well for some reason.  Then the break up story?  Yikes.  Yes, hopefully she does not get back together with him.  Hopefully healing is in her near future.  Never fun to break up!

  • My DH is taking Tuesday off so we can have a family day.  Problem is, is we do not know what to do.  Any ideas for a 10-month-old baby friendly activity?  We went to the zoo the last time, so do not want to do that.  Also, he is in the teething stage of putting EVERYTHING in his mouth...so I am unsure of the Children's Museum, where 100 other kids touched the item he will be slobbering on. (Yes, I am a bit of a germ-a-phob) Embarrassed

Then went from friends to super serious very, very, very quickly.  Maybe he got spooked.

You're in Zeeland, right?  How about the Holland Aquatic Center?  Beach picnic?  You can come to GR and walk around to see the things being installed for Art Prize.  Orchard trip?

10 months is hard for outings.  They want to be active, but there aren't a lot of crawling friendly hot spots.

  • Me too, Mira.  Between the "Friday" title and it actually being September today, I lost my bearings for a minute.

  • It's September and going to be fall soon - yeah!!!

A sour note today. A friend of mine needs money and asked if I would pay her to clean. I told her that I dont have the money. So then she goes behind my back and is talking to Mike and he asks her to clean and says he will pay her. So I find out all about this while I am at work and he didn't have the decency to ask or tell me. And since when does he have the money to pay her to clean??? He says that he doesnt have any money but is willing to do that. WTH

Maybe he has someone on the side (this happened to a friend of mine, but they were married) and bought the car to keep her appeased/unsuspicious, but really wanted out, so he started looking for any little nitpicky thing to jump on and blow out of proportion, thus giving him an "out" to be with the other person his guilty conscience couldn't admit to having around.

    In other news...

    I love September.

HAC could be fun...I totally forgot about it!  Also, orchard...hmmm.  Thanks!  Yes, it is hard for him right now since he is only crawling.  Well, hard on me too since he wants ME to carry him everywhere and he is over 26 lbs.  He lets my husband carry him for about 30 seconds and then wants momma again.  Thank goodness I have a sling that I use.

Isn't there a place in Holland called "Deanna's Playhouse" or something? But, I guess that gets back to the germ thing. I wanted to try it out but I bet my kids are too old now. i vote for an outdoor activity. The orchard sounds lovely!

Yes, the germ thing.Embarrassed  Deannas Playhouse is targeted for 0-3 years old.  But I know my 5 & 6 year old nephews like it.  I just remembered that we have a "Critter Barn" near us....maybe I will look that up online to see what it is all about.

lol....it's clear that I dont have children!

  • Don't be embarrassed about avoiding germs.  1)You're not avoiding all humanity, and are willing to do outings, and 2) at that age any trip to a known germville will likely have consequences.  It seems you're taking a sane approach.

Totally random, but please remind me of that 50's style diner in downtown Zeeland.  Is it Frank's?  I don't know why, but I was trying to remember the name.
