Re: B&M Monday
Well, I guess I'm in good company. LOL. Yep, I have to report back at 1:30 PM for jury selection.
Sorry to be a PW.
This. I have two categories of fall decor - October 1st-31st and October 1st-Thanksgiving.
Julie - I was a juror for a murder trial around this time last year and I will never ever do that again. Next time I will be an idiot during jury selection so they do not pick me. It was awesome when after five days my office stopped paying me to be away and I had to take vacation I had saved for the wedding/honeymoon. Getting those lovely unpaid days right after the wedding was a real blow. Never again.
In class this morning we did nothing but debate whether or not you can be religious/pro-choice a feminist/pro-life. It is so upsetting for me to hear people spew stupidity and be extremely judgemental either one way or another. A poor girl who had had an abortion stood up and said, "yeah, this is too much for me" and left in the middle of the class in tears.
I'm pretty sure aliens landed last night and replaced everyone's brain with a rock or something. I really hate when I try to make things easier for people yet it only confuses them and it bites me in the butt.
Leslie- In my search on where to go for our trip, I came across the Hangar Hotel near Fredericksburg and they made a hangar into a hotel and it is decorated in WWII memorabilia as well as cars, airplanes and such from that time period.
We just found out this morning that DH is going out of town for about 5 days for his job next week.
Hes going with 4 or 5 other guys, but luckily the company is paying for their food, hotel, etc. I just hate being home by myself for that many days.
that means putting the tv on the sleep timer just so I can fall asleep. Yayyy.
Poor girl! This really bothers me. I know this is an issue that most people have a strong opinion on one way or the other, but there is no reason to judge people for what they have done. You don't know their circumstances!
I am just really tired today. I didn't feel good yesterday and even took a nap.
I am super excited that SMU won though! And the loss knocked TCU out of the rankings for the first time in three years. Woohoo! :-p

Me too! I get off late from work sometimes, and DH is usually home, but since he wont be next week, I'm leaving the tv AND all the lights on! I hate coming home to a dark house and silence. I hate being home alone. I also keep every light on too, while hubby is out of town. I had to do that too, when he was working nights, and I'd keep my lamp on in my bedroom even if I was sleeping. The only time I got a good nights sleep was when he was off for 3 days.
This is why I am super glad that DH doesn't have a job where he has to travel. I would not do well alone at night! I probably would sleep with the TV and the light on as well! :-p

Ehh, yeah we kind of suck this year....but you guys barely beat us. So, what does that say about your team?
ETA: Afraid of the dark ladies... timers are your friend! We have timers on our lamps (even when we are home) so we never have to walk into a dark house.
Are you coming to book club anyway? Because you really should.
DH travels a lot, and I seriously have a "Going To Bed" routine for when he's gone. It involves fans, lights getting left on in strategic areas, locking my bedroom door, and keeping a baseball bat under the bed. I'm the worst combo - a scaredy cat with a really good imagination.
For my B&M, I have three words: Still no internet.
They showed up last week to install (after we waited four weeks for an appt) and discovered when they got to our house that our neighborhood wasn't eligible for Uverse.
Ugh.
Tiffany- It's ok if you need to make up excuses for why your team lost! If it makes you feel better! :-)

I didn't make any excuses. I never do. What excuse are you referring to?
Oh I was just kidding because you said your team isn't very good. Basically saying that's the only reason we beat you :-)

Haha, I thought you were going to say get a gun.
Ha, no I was saying our team sucks and so does yours.
DH made oatmeal cookies last night while I was sleeping. So he had them in a little tupperware for me to bring to work today.
They are SOOOO delicious, I can't stop nibbling on them. He's always been the cook, but I had no idea he could bake like that.
This is dangerous. I need to start forcing people to eat the rest of them.
I plan to.
Umm..you can "air fax" them to me! I'll eat 'em!
they sound delish!
Also, it's best to keep wasp spray by your bed at home because it can shoot pretty far (unlike mace, where you have to be pretty close) and I think you have to go to the hospital if it gets in your eyes.
Yes, I have timers on a few lamps in my house. I like not coming home to a dark house, but I also like the fact that when I'm NOT home the timers go on and off, so people don't just see a dark house and think they can break in.
If you are a scardy cat when DH is gone, what did you do before you were married?

Haha, well I have one and I keep it handy if DH leaves.
I always lived in apartment buildings with security - on upper levels. And they were small - so I could hear everything going on in my place. I know that doesn't guarantee safety, but I did have more of a sense of security.
I think, personally, my fear is when there are many windows/doors and it's all on ground level. And it's all spread out so I wouldn't necessarily hear if someone entered the house.
What I really need to do is stop watching Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit and CSI.
before we were married, we lived with his parents. We were saving up for a deposit and 1st months rent for an apartment. and he hasnt worked nights in quite awhile, but he also hasnt gone out of town in about a year. They're saying that they might have to go every six months or so. I think I will deff invest in some lamps with timers.

DH always comes home late on Wednesday nights and I had to give up Criminal Minds because my mind would wonder and I would freak out, especially in our old place. I was sleeping pretty heavily one Wednesday night and I woke up all of a sudden and felt a human next to me and freaked out a bit. I shook the body and asked "Who are you?" DH was a little annoyed that I woke him up because apparently we had had a conversation when he came home...yeah I won't remember that.
