Hahaha DH is probably going to kill me when it comes nursery-decorating time for us.  A friend said to me once, "I don't really like those nurseries that look like you threw up pink everywhere..."  To which I replied, "If we have a girl, that is exactly the kind of nursery I want!"  (which the friend already suspected)  I have a bazillion ideas already, and it's hard for me not to start looking for things now, because I know that I want some antique white furniture in there, but I know DH would freak out!

Decorating??!!  Oh crap, I couldn't even pick a simple tile.

That's me.  I always swore I would have this amazing nursery... and then when it came down to it - I went with a room that pink threw up on, because I didn't have any other ideas.

    Lamesauce.

You could be getting a do-over very soon! Second chance to make an awesome nursery.

I want you and everyone else here that has a Pinterest account & nursery board to get pregnant so I can see those nurseries come to fruition. I am lame-o at decorating so I need to see you guys make pretty rooms.

I want a nursery... just not a baby.  Does that make me crazy?  :)

LOL that worries me too! Obviously, we would love to have a boy, but I have panic attacks over how to decorate and dress a boy.  Oh lord, I'm in trouble... haha

  • Random... but I have a nursery idea (should I ever need one) and I'm not telling anyone or pinning anything on pinterest so no one will steal it.

I don't have any idea how to actually do it, but I have a theme.

Little boys are soooo different.  Both my mom and my sister are nannies for 2 boys.  My mom works for one of my attorneys.  He brought his oldest up here awhile back and I went to see him and he was in Mike's office picking up a toy and throwing it across the room...picking up a pen and throwing it across a room...picking up a ....well you get the idea.

Me and another attorney who has 2 girls just looked at each other.  I don't think Melodie ever threw anything across the room her whole life.

No worries everyone.  She has admitted she has a problem and we are in the process of introducing color into her life.  Slowly.  :)

You raised your daughter very well! She doesn't seem to follow norms and seems like a very well behaved child

Speaking of Melodie, how is she enjoying her job?

    LOL at Kidd Kraddick, Lacy.

I've often thought, "Oh that is so cute for a nursery" but then I remember a nursery comes with a baby.

DH and I are both sooo ready to start TTC. Once I get a job with insurance, it's Baby City :)

Exciting! I hope it happens soon! Did you apply to the one at UTSW?

Not yet, I need to update my resume. I don't know why, but it just seems like a bigger task than it really is. As soon as I do, I will let you know!

Waiting to update my resume, getting my references, etc. (one job wanted copies of my transcript, SS card, license and car insurance with your application) in order has often bit me in the butt.  I never dibble dabbled with all of that to begin with but the jobs were taken down as soon as I got all of my stuff together.  Now I am ready.

Oh she is--and she was a very good baby.  And I certainly wasn't knocking the little boy's behavior--he just was just being a little boy!  I was just trying to point out how different they are as babies.,

Jaymi, she seems to like her job.  Every day when I ask her, she says it was "fine," LOL.

    Teens.

At least you don't take laundry that needs to be folded to her job to embarrass the heck out of her.  My mom did that and to this day, it still irks me.

  • Stephie, what is she doing again?

Jaymi, you could always save the ideas for your friends, who love to be overwhelmed with options & inspiration (ahem, myself, Leslie, just to name a couple) haha!

How is it already after 4 pm?  I was really hoping to be productive today and get to head out early-ish, but it's not looking good.  Oh well... 7 more (work)days after today!

  • Angie, she works at Hancock Fabrics which is great because she loves to sew and is already pretty knowledgeable after 3 years of sewing in HS.

Jaymi -- WHAT?  OMG, I would never do such a thing.  I would be the one who would be embarrassed!

It was in the middle of summer and I was doing the laundry at our old apartment complex.  There was no air/breeze, it was hot as hell so after folding clothes a bit, I quit and threw the rest in the basket because I couldn't take it anymore.  Because I didn't finish them she brought them to my job.  I was used to her doing weird things but it was not the place to dump laundry out and cause a scene.
