Re: AW Thursday
Important lesson we learned: If the price is too good to be true, there is going to be major damage. Foundation, Mold, etc. If the house (at a great price) has been on the market for more than a month and an investor hasn't snapped it up, there is a reason why.
Amanda- How did they find it? Did you have symptoms?
Bio Good Times
Amanda, I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this when you are still so young. But, it sounds like you have the ability to make a full recovery which is excellent news!
As for the hardwoods, we have hardwoods throughout the house except for the kitchen and "gameroom" which is tile and leads to the garage and backyard. Since we do not use our front door as much (always enter through the garage on a day to day basis) we don't really have an issue with tracking water in and damaging the hardwoods in front of the front door. I do have a doormat out front and no mat once you step inside. Our hardwoods are original to the house (built in '51) so they have withstood the test of time, I'd say.
If you use your front door on a day to day basis, it may be something to think about, otherwise tracking in water should not be an issue.

Amanda,
Hugs and T&P's to you.
Mine is a little bad but then good. Bill's company is not paying for the conference (airfare, hotel, attendance fee) so we won't get to be part of the HP night (it's $2000 just to attend the conference). However, it's turning into a vacation instead, so it'll be nice to not be going through the parks by myself during the day.
Congratulations to everyone on this week's accomplishments!
Amanda- My T&Ps are with you! :-) I'm glad they caught it early!
I am excited because I have an appt with a new obgyn next week (one that is closer to work!) so hopefully I will get some answers soon. I'm tired of all this waiting. I'm not very patient! :-p
We are going to Oklahoma City this weekend for DH's sister's 20th wedding anniversary. They are having a white trash party and I seriously have no idea what to wear to that!

That's so funny, my friend's big 30th birthday party that I'm throwing in a few weeks is a trailer trash bash. I don't know what I'm wearing, but Courts is going to cut some old jeans into shorts, drip some mustard on an old white t-shirt, and wear his camo cap and hiking boots, lol. Google for ideas, there's tons out there.
I have an AW after all! Another campus just contacted me about being an on-call for them too! My hours are limited to 19.5 between the two campuses, but hopefully that means I will be able to get that many hours most weeks!
I would suggest "People of Wal Mart" for inspiration.
White wife-beater tank with your (dark-colored) bra hanging out? Bubba teeth? I'm terrible at dressing up for themed things.
I realllllly want to go shopping... but just have no time. I have to go home after work today (probably at 7 or later) and clean house for our visitors. James did vacuum most of the house, but he's not very, um, adept at other cleaning. I really think he just doesn't notice when things get dirty! I think that once he finishes school and goes back to work, the first thing I'm doing is hiring a cleaning service. Then buying a new car, then having a baby hahaha.
Oh, that made me totally LOL. I'm glad I'm working at home today.

Oh my, Amanda. Glad they found it now.
Great news Anna!
I am so sorry! And here I am the one who told you it would be nothing! So glad everything is OK.

Just do it!
Amen to that. We've learned that too. I'm almost a little skeptical on the condo i'm going to look at after work. It's been on the market 3 months - at least - that i know of. It's only dropped $6k in price. But the price is still pretty awesome, plus taxes and HOA are LOW especially for the Plano area. My only thing that i think is keeping it from being sold is that the realtor i spoke with said the seller will ONLY sell. They aren't wanting to lease...most people who deal with condo's/townhomes lease and dont buy...so i'm hoping that's whats keeping this gem on the market
Fingers crossed for you, Ashlee!
I just went for a little breather & walked over to Target (right across a little side street from my building - dangerous!) and got a cute tote bag, with pockets on the inside and outside ends, and comfy handles, for $8.50. I'm proud that not only was it super cheap, it is cute and practical too. The only kicker? I don't need it - I have at least 5 totes approximately this same size. So, hello my name is Angie, and I have a tote-bag-buying problem. *sits down*
Thanks Angie! I'll be sure to let you ladies know how it goes! I think its funny when realtors/sellers look at me like a deer in headlights when i start asking legal questions. Yes i'm 21, and yes i know what the heck i'm doing...thanks for trying to take advantage though
try again on the next yougin'!
As for the tote topic...
Hello, my name is ashlee and i have a pajama problem...just the bottoms though. I have more pajama pants then i could wear in a month. yet....i dont wear them to bed or anything. Just to lounge around in. And i'm pretty sure I rotate the same 4 pair. lol. totally impractical. I know
The real question is: did this satisfy your need to shop? If $8.50 did, I think you won. My "needs to shop" don't happen often, but I usually walk out of Northpark a lot poorer.

Thanks! I hope so too
Weeeelllll, it helped a little - I did it more for the fresh air than the thrill of shopping. I still want a good, half-day shopping trip, but I'm just not seeing it any time in my future. Maybe Sunday, after the family leaves..... who knows.
My AW is that I've officially decided that I'm going to go to pastry school in the spring, if possible. I have plans to open up my own bakery by the time I'm 30. (I'm not self-promoting). I want to be apart of peoples lives on their special day, whether its their wedding, bday or whatever the event, I want to make people happy.
On another note, my cousin turns 21 tomorrow, and my aunt turns 50 Sunday. You know what that means?? I'm buying them the most awesome "big" birthday gifts!
I am so late to this since I couldnt get on all day but Amanda I will definitely keep you in my thoughts and I am so sorry you are going through this!
Deepthi, glad you liked it, its one of our staples.
Michelle,
Last summer (2010) Northpark was very close to Baylor and we would go hang out there when we couldn't be in Mom's room. There were many days, I'm sure, that Bill wished I hadn't discovered that NP was a great place to spend some down time. And some of our money. Thanks to that, I now get a personal phone call from the Coach store there whenever they are having a promotion. Yep, it's that bad. Hi, my name is Julie and I like purses. Like 3 plastic bins worth.
