Re: Free For All Friday

  • I grabbed my camera this morning for Angela's wedding tonight only to realize its completely dead.  I am debating between just relying on my phone or running home and grabbing the charger.

  • I really wish the Yankee's would have won....going to the Taylor Swift concert...that would have meant a LOT less traffic. Any one familar with the Cowboys Stadium area that can give me some pointers? We were gonna eat before the concert and we were thinking Joe's Crab Shack or Hooters???

Someone you know will be taking lots of pictures. I['m just saying.

ALSO, you girls need to grab me at some point during the reception so you can get a good Nestie picture. :)

This morning, I am praying for rain... except for in Dallas between 4 and 7:15 p.m. After that, it can pour like crazy. :)

I know and thats why I am tempted to just rely on my phone for random pictures at our table.  A Nestie pic would be fun. :)

  • The condo i went and looked at last night passed the first walk through of me, myself and I. Hubby is going to go look at it this morning, he has an appt with the realtor at 10. He's a hell of alot harder to please. So I'm still not holding my breath. He always has a reason as to why we shouldn't buy something....it's starting to drive me crazy, but on the other hand - at least he knows what he wants.
  • TMI -

I started reading forums last night about getting pregnant after having the Mirena IUD out and I am officially freaked out and regretting ever having one.

Oh no!  Is it hard to get pregnant after having an IUD?  :(

  • You now have me curious, Brianna but I can't go look it up while at work.

DH has been having car trouble and it would not start this morning so we might be down to one car this weekend, which means I will likely end up missing book club since what each of us want to do are on the opposite sides of the planet.

Hey Michael, oh I mean Michelle, when I was at Starbucks this morning, I swear they said "Jaymi" and when I just now looked at my cup it said "Jane".  I don't have a clue what I ordered so I hope there wasn't an actual Jane there.  If so, ooops.

  • I'm in a great mood today!  Had dinner with a friend I hadn't seen in a while.  We spent 3 hours just catching up.  It was nice.  She also told me some stuff about one of my BMs that makes me feel a little better about our falling out.  Not sure if you guys remember all the drama with that from April/May but we had a big falling out because some guy was starting rumors but it turns out the reason she believed him over me was because they were sleeping together.  I'm glad I got out of that drama!  We also have our gender reveal party (some people thing it's lame but our family and friends are excited) tomorrow night and the Rangers game Sunday.  I'm so glad it's Friday!!!

They always write Lexi on my cups.  :(

     hehe, Oops.  Hopefully not.

Sorry you are down to one car, that stinks.

We are going to the Stars game tonight, and I'm pumped!

  • Back to the other day's texturally pleasing conversation, I am having raisin bran crunch for breakfast.  I don't like milk with cereal, and I picked out all the raisins.  I'm officially weird.

I'm really excited about this weekend... my 3yo niece is spending the night tonight, and my BIL, his gf, and their two kids will be at the house sometime this evening.  It should be really fun.  And I'm also looking forward to book club - gotta cook up some pasta salad tonight.  Alyssa will probably help me with it.

Also, and AW, since it's free for all... I have a Gerbera daisy blooming in my flowerbed, and it's beautiful.  And a second one about to bloom!  I planted it in May, and thought it was a goner all summer.  Nope, it just needed a little cooler weather!  I wish I could pip from my phone to show y'all.

I'm working from home watching pointless television and listening to a tile saw.  Best.Friday.Workday.Ever!

    TMI -

I started reading forums last night about getting pregnant after having the Mirena IUD out and I am officially freaked out and regretting ever having one.

Don't stress about this. I spend A LOT of time on preg/baby related forums and have seen people get pregnant the first month off Mirena. There are even legions of women who took out their own IUDs and got pregnant quickly.

I have found that Googling anything about TTC will scare the crap out of you. I was on BCP for 13 years straight and when we first started trying the google results made me upset about that. I have now seen women who have been on it for longer conceive easily.

ETA: I meant this to sound like don't stress yourself out because I care about you not like lecture. Just editing to add that! :)

I don't think they are lame whatsoever...I am somewhat fascinated by them!  One blogger I stalk did this and it was the first time I had ever heard of one.  We don't plan on finding out the gender but these parties make me want to find out so we can have one.

i can't drink milk at all, i put it in my cereal, but i drain it out before i take a bite. Japan and England ruined milk for me. So i'll join you're weird train :)

  • I'm looking forward to lunch with one of my friends today and then Angela's wedding tonight!
  • I know this might end up as a double post but i dont care. my co-workers cat got loose over 4 weeks ago. And she just got a phone call from someone saying they think they found her cat. I told her to freaking leave work and go get him. I really hope its him! she's been so upset lately
  • Dana - We're going to need details about this gender reveal party.  Do you already know, and you're telling your friends and family?  Or will it be a surprise for you too?  Either way, how are you announcing it?  I think, when the time comes, I want to do this.
  • So today is the conclusion of customer service week and we always end with dress your supervisor day.  We are getting dressed up as clowns and so I am not a spoil sport I am letting them paint my face which now means I am going to leave at 2:30 so I can go home, shower and get ready for the wedding all over again.  My hair will look better since it will be nice and fresh but I got my makeup to look super cute this morning and now I am redoing it.
  • Does anyone know how to...alter your dreams?  I keep having dreams about work or people from work are in them so I'm "at" work almost 24/7.  If I'm thinking about work before bed, I force myself to think of something like the ocean.  Not working.

    TOOK OUT THEIR OWN!?!

My doctor didn't say anything to me about any problems with fertility after getting it removed, but after surfing last night, it seems like a lot of women were able to get pregnant like immediately afterwards but a lot of them had miscarriages because their uterus wasn't ready?!

On top of that, there is this thing called the "Mirena Crash" because you're literally crashing hormones after getting it removed.  All kinds of issues - one including major headaches.  The power of suggestion is strong because I woke up with a headache!  All of these women were complaining about how their doctors didn't tell them any of this and they're out there to "help other woman in need."  Consider me freaked out.

  • Not that I'm a dream expert or anything, but generally when you dream about work that much, it's because there's some aspect of it that's really bugging you.  Stopping yourself from thinking about it right before bed probably won't help, because your subconscious mind is still going over the issues that are bothering you, even if your conscious mind has moved on to the ocean.  Try substituting something else that you mind has to work over - read a gripping book before bed, work on a puzzle, something like that.  Thinking of the ocean is a passive thing for your mind - I think if you substitute something active, it might help take your dreams off of work.

yeah i agree with angie. or try watching criminal minds right before bed....lol

  • BL, I brought my camera.  Is everyone driving to the wedding themselves?  Since I am so close to downtown, I thought about going to the hotel and taking the shuttle.  I am a little stressed out about getting ready at work and getting there on time.  I might be better off just driving to the venue.

This is a 3-day weekend for me!

  • I've been holding out on you girls (well, almost all of you.) After 6 months of spot-on 27 day cycles I am on day 31. Sadly, BFN tests but also no sign of my monthly friend. I am not hopeful as I am getting negative tests and the odds aren't with me but it isn't over until AF shows. So, you got any ju-ju for me? :)

I feel like I am tempting fate putting this out there and will probably start the second I hit send.

DH wants to do this with the next one.  Except - he doesn't want us to even know.  He wants to have a neutral third party receive an envelope from the doctor (that we will give them - sealed without looking at it), and have them make a cake that is either pink or blue with LOTS of icing so we can't see the color.  Then at the party, we cut the cake open with everyone there so we can all find out together.  I like the idea a lot but I don't know if we'll go through with it.

I used to watch those Forensic Files marathons all the time until I started having nighmares.  Dexter used to give me nighmares too.  I dream about work all the time--the dreams are always hilarious though.

ETA:  Leslie, I am having trouble deciphering all that but I think I get the picture!

DH and I are going to the sonogram at 11:30 today.  I don't want to know anything before because I want it to be a surprise tomorrow.  I told DH if he wanted to know that bad he could look but don't give me any kind of look.  I think he is on the don't know anything train too though.  The tech will seal the results in an envelope.  I will take the envelope to the bakery and they are going to cut a cake in half long ways and add blue or pink frosting.  They will then decorate the cake just gender neutral.  We are having a potluck with family and close friends tomorrow night at 6 and the cake will be dessert.  We will cut it and everyone will know at the same time what we are having.  I'm really excited!

Since my parents are divorced and I have so many siblings I didn't want to hear the "why did you tell them first" crap so I just said if you want to know first come to the party otherwise I will text you or you can read it on FB.
