Fvcking Twilight.

I haven't seen any of the movies, and I haven't read any of the books, but these damn commercials every five seconds make me feel like I NEED to see the new movie.

Re: Fvcking Twilight.

  • Also, I'm pretty sure I'm team Jacob.
  • Is there such a thing as eye heroin? Because I feel like they put that in the Twilight ads.

I'm in the same camp as you - I actually own the books in hardcover and have never cracked one, and yet, the trailer for the new movie obviously implanted itself in my brain bc I DVR'd the first movie when I noticed it on TV. I have no idea why I did that! EYE HEROIN!

  • I hate Twilight. A lot. Yes, I have read it. (time for a mini rant) I wish I could get those hours of my life back. Various folks insisted they were masterpieces and that I had to read them so I did to see what the hoopla was about. I observed unhealthy codependent behavior, pedophilia, controlling/obsessive and dare I say abusive behavior, and I could just go on. Bella is by far the most whinest, most ungrateful, most unlikable character I have had the displeasure of reading in a book.

Also, as a horror genre buff I was completely horrified at the way she portrayed vampires. Glittering in the sun? Really? Are they part fairy now? Also, don't get me started on the terrible writing, lack of vocabulary, and plot holes.

Yet, I have been unable to resist watching the terribly made movies. I haven't seen previews for Breaking Dawn, but I'll probably see it anyway. I'm curious as to how they'll portray a few...interesting things from the book.

Flame-worthy confession; I rad the books. They were good, but NOT a literary masterpiece. Anyone that thinks they are needs to have their head examined. They were a good way to pass the time.

And I don't care if it makes me a cougar- the dude that plays Jacob is hot as heck. The guy that plays Edward just looks creepy and sick. Six pack vs glitter? Yup, six pack abs please.

In general, I dont' find him attractive at all. I do NOT understand the fascination w/ him.

And Kristen Stewart has to be one of the worst actresses of all time.  Even the way they show her looking in the mirror and holding her stomach when she realizes she's PG is just bad.  BAD.

  • I have never seen these movies or read the books and just don't ge tthe appeal. It seems like there is always one of these movies just about to come out in the theater? How many are there? My almost 40 year old sister is obsessed with these movies and the Harry Potter movies and I just don't understand.

I liked whatshisface in Water for Elephants, he looked hot in that, although he's still a crap actor.

Kristen Stewart has ZERO personality. I did see her for a minute on Conan last night and she looked beautiful.

  • The books are eh and the movies are horrid. I can't believe they are splitting the last one into 2. They could have done the whole book in like an hour.

LOL. I can handle people saying they didn't like HP (although I don't understand) but once you go lumping it in the same category as twilight, SHUN.

Doglove - no nerve w/ me, BUT Harry Potter doesn't belong in the same category as Twilight.  Trust me.  Either the books or the movies.

  • Don't get me started on Twilight.  I feel like the series is a PSA for the Douchebaggery Acceptance League.

It utterly blows my mind that she even got a book deal, much less that it's become this phenomenon.  Coupled with the human abortions that are the Kardashians, I weep for humanity's taste level.

I've never read the HP books or the Twilight books, but I've seen the movies.  HP definitely outclasses Twilight by a lot, even with the cameo appearance of Pattinson in one of the HP movies.  Everyone makes mistakes. Stick out tongue

    This is my siggy.

To be fair, he died a horrible death. So, maybe not a mistake?

  • I've heard Jacob gets creepy in the last two books (I didn't read those), but he seemed like a better choice in the first two.  At least, he did if what you want is a boyfriend who is fun.  If you want someone to adore and kind of stalk you, then I guess team Edward?

Ugh.  I would like to say that these books are unprecedentedly bad, but I went back and read The Vampire Diaries (the Twilight of my generation), and yeah, they're pretty bad, too.  And they also feature a wet noodle of a hero, a heroine who is unreasonably and kind of unhingedly attached to a guy she barely knows and who isn't any fun, and a love triangle with the guy who doesn't get the girl being all kinds of fun and awesome.

UGH.  Mr. Kuus loved this show when we got together, which means I had to watch it, too.  Dawson was the biggest jerk Nice Guy (http://www.heartless-bitches.com/rants/niceguys/nice-guy-dilemma.shtml) ever.

  • I read all four books and go to see the movies at the midnight opening.  HOWEVER, it's junk.  It's like junkfood reading/movies. And there's nothing wrong with enjoying a little junkfood now and then.

I actually wasn't too interested in this upcoming movie until I saw the trailer and now am so excited for the next movie.

It's all shyt, I fully admit that.  But as long as it's not ALL I read, I don't see anything wrong with it.
