Did anyone else have problems getting on TN Friday? I had it all day and of course it seems like I was the only one. I'm catching up and would comment on everything, but I'm not going to. Have a great week girls!
Re: B&M Monday
Deepthi- I didnt have any issues but only tried a couple times.
My B&M is that I got very little sleep last night and then get into work and realize I forgot my laptop at home. I have decided to use a loaner one for the day instead of going home and getting it, it sucks because nothing I need is on here.
Time changes always through me off. I kept waking up last night, so now I'm super tired! :-(
I am excited for bootcamp to start tomorrow!
Does anyone know a good place around the area to get a tattoo? Random question I know! :-)

Sarah's getting a tat. I knew it.
The extra hour is great and all but it always screws up my sleep schedule. The time change in the spring? Same thing.
We took our Christmas pictures with Santa yesterday. Last year, we wore the Mickey eats for our pictures; this year we brought cookies and milk. The photographers had a great time with us and I can't wait to see them!!!!!
Julie- I've wanted one for a while but am scared it will hurt! :-P
One of these years I'll convince Chris to do Christmas pics!

I am also excited for bootcamp.
As far as tattoos I do not know of any local places but as far as pain its more of an annoying uncomfortable experience versus actual pain. I explained the feeling to Matt as someone scratching a sunburn, and he said it was a pretty close description.
I checked a couple time and now it's acting up.. Maybe our IT department has caught on!
I've been doing badly in my classes and I'm not enjoying it so I've decided to go ahead and end it. I feel terrible quiting and have no clue what I'm going to do now. I hate having things up in the are and wish I had more direction in my life right now.

I've wanted a tatoo for awhile too, but I'm scared of the pain.
I dont really have anything to B&M about, our weekend was pretty great.
My SIL had her baby on Friday. He came out a healthy boy. Born 5lb 4oz. Thank God he doesnt have cerebal palsy like we all thought he did. Found out he had lost a pound within a couple of days before he was born. Hes seriously one of the cutest babies I've seen. I bought him a onesie from Target that says "My Aunt knows who Santa is." Perfect for the holiday season!
How was everyone elses weekend?
Deepthi - I'm sorry things weren't working out with your classes.
I forgot to set my nightstand clock back and woke up early on Sunday and today, I have a feeling I'm going to be so tired this afternoon.
Bio Good Times
Deepthi- Do you just not like the material of the classes? I'm sorry :-(
Chelsea- Yes, I do have my nose pierced. I thought it hurt pretty bad when I had it done! Where are your tattoos? I want to get it on my shoulder so at least it's not in a bony spot!

Sarah - I have a sunflower on my right hip bone, and two sparrows (one for Jack, one for the little girl we miscarried in 2005) on my left shoulder blade. So no help from me in picking a non-bony spot.
The tattoo I'm getting soon is "Everything Is Fine" written in Mack's handwriting on the inside of my left upper arm. That will be the "spine" of the sleeve I'm starting next year... but the bride for whom I'm the MOH in a wedding in February asked me to pretty-please not have an unfinished sleeve at her wedding. So that's why the stuff on the outside of my arm will have to wait. Womp womp. I get friend points for this!!!
I was doing pre-nursing. While the material was facinating I just don't think it was for me. Honestly, maybe I just need to finish the semester, but I've been totally emotional the last two weeks.

My manager scheduled me to work every.single.holiday this year, and we're only required to work 2 days. That includes the day of & the eve, so I'm scheduled for all 6 days!! I'm a little irritated & hoping she just didn't realize what she did. I'm hoping.
But I have decided to start studying for the MAT now so that I can get into TWU next fall & get my masters degree! I'm pretty excited about that! I really want to get that done before we start having kids, and Daniel's put a 3 year time frame on that so I need to get started!!
How is everyone's Monday going so far?
Chelsea- What a good friend! :-P
Anna- that is where I got my nose and belly button pierced. I had gone there a while back to try and get one but the guy was rude and uninterested in what I wanted. :-/
Deepthi- I'm sorry :-(. How much longer would the semester be?

I have a small tattoo on the back of my neck (so my hair will cover it), and it didn't hurt. I was expecting it to, and worked myself up... but it wasn't bad at all... and that's a very bony area.
I'm going to get one on my side too. My DH is covered in them!

Sarah, I'll agree with Chelsea. My nose piercing hurt worse than my "tramp stamp" tat but the one on my foot was horrible pain. My sister has one on her shoulder and ankle and said the shoulder was nothing at all and the ankle only hurt around the bones.
I was talking to DH last night because I know my little sister's BF is planning on proposing to my sister soon. The only reason I know this is because I was in the car last week when he called my mom needing to talk to her "urgently" and that he had already talked to my dad. I was talking to DH last night and said I thought he would ask her at Margarita Ball in 2 weeks and DH said "yep he told me last week but I was told not to tell you". All the other siblings know and all my parents and DH but I'm not allowed to know. I was hurt by that. I get it kinda, he doesn't think I'll keep it a secret but I will and I can.
The other thing that hurt me more than anything was that her BF knows that we are like BFF and he doesn't want us there when he ask her. He is having 2 more couples there when he does it and 30,000 strangers but her own sister isn't important enough. He's using the excuse that I'm pregnant not to invite us this year. I know it's stupid to be hurt over it all and it's their thing but DH did everything he could to make sure my sister was there when he asked me because he knew it would be important to me and her.
I have 4 tattoos and have had 11 different piercings and for me personally the tattoos were all worse than the piercings. My nose was actually my least painful and I had it done 5 different times over the course of 3 years, with that said though tattoo are in no way unbareable.
I have one on one of my shoulders (cant remember which one now) and that was my least painful one of them all so I think that is a good spot Sarah.
I really want another tattoo for my grandfather but I want it on my foot and just cant do it with my career.
Deepthi- I am sorry about the school thing, that is something I fear (and probably a reason I havent gotten around to starting again).
This is what I want:

Maybe slightly different but basically this. I could never get one on my foot. I had a friend who did and she said it hurt!

HURT means different things for different people, but it's not unbearable for anyone, I don't think. If you just keep in mind that you are adhering something to your body FOREVER, then I think pain makes sense.
The rule of thumb that I've followed for all my tattoos is to settle on the design and placement, and then make myself wait for 6 months. If I'm still just as gung-ho about the EXACT same thing, then I get the tattoo. But if I can't keep from changing my mind about anything for 6 months, then I certainly don't want it on my body forever.
Sarah, what are you going to get?
Julie - that is too cute - I want to do Santa pictures! Do you use them for Christmas cards, or what?
Deepthi - I am sorry to hear that - but, at least you figured it out now, rather than getting too far into the program to turn back, and then feeling stuck!
Chelsea - seriously? I would NOT have pegged you as a tats-and-piercings kind of girl! Not that it's a bad thing - I don't mean that - I'm just cracking up right now because that is not the image I've always had of you!
Dana - I am sorry that you're hurt about all this. I know that if it was me & my sister, if she'd been there when James asked me, I would have immediately switched into wedding-planning-mode with her, rather than enjoying the moment with James. She and I are planners, and we're creative together, so that would have been where the focus went automatically. Maybe your sister's bf thinks that the two of you would be that way? I have no idea, just guessing based on my own situation. Try not to be bummed though - I am sure that he isn't excluding you out of meanness!
I have no B&M, but I have a cute anniversary story. I decided on Friday to get a journal & we'd sit down every anniversary and write some things that had happened over the past year, and things we hope will happen in the next year. Some silly, some serious, but nothing too detailed. Anyway, I've been wanting to start thinking about babies in the next few months or so, after James gets a job... but he is not a planner and gets freaked out over big things if he thinks about them too much, so I haven't really mentioned it. Well, I asked if we could put down "Babies" in the Next Year section, and he said yes and was excited about it! I was so relieved that it went smoothly, and that he's excited too
I didn't get one until 25!

That's a good idea. I've thought about it and know I want it. I just get scared. But I do definitely want it and I love the elephant. :-)

Also - Deepthi are you at UTA? If so, drop date was 11/4, so please finish the semester. I know you can do it! Even if you dont want to continue after this semester, you will have these credits if you ever decide to go back.
re: tattoos - I have a tramp stamp, dont love it anymore but luckily only see it every once in awhile in the mirror. It was inked directly on my spine and was only mildy uncomfortable really. It doesn't hurt Sarah!
My mom was 40, I was 18, we did them together. Never to old.
Sarah, that is super cute
Chelsea, that is the same rule that I have adopted now, except I go for a year. I have two on my body that were very spur of the moment and I would change and two that have meaning and I love. The one I want now I have wanted for almost 5 years but I only want it on my foot and its not small either
.
Angie, that is an adorable idea (that I might steal) and thats awsome that he didnt freak out about it.
Hi ladies! All this talk about tats this morning! Lacey, I'm the same. 30 yrs old and never got one so probably not going to, but I have no problem with anyone else getting one. My mom has a bunch, my bro and sis have a couple so I'm really the odd one out.
Sarah, love the lil elephant!
Chelsea, I love the meaning behind yours!
My weekend was good I guess. I wore myself out completely on Saturday trying to clean. Yesterday, I sat in a deer stand for a couple hours with my DH. First time ever and no I'm not a hunter ladies.
~ Oh and I'm pretty sure our computer crashed last night. Hopefully, my bro (who is on the Geek Squad) can fix it.
Lacey - I actually think older is better than really young. If I'd gotten one when I was 18-20, I'd probably hate it now. And I think my mom was 50 when she got her first!
Amanda - My BILs and my dad are all computer people, it's so great to have tech support in the family, isn't it?
