AW 1: I leave for Vegas this afternoon!
AW 2: Two years ago I bought some pants, got them home and realized the size on the hanger was three sizes bigger than the actual pants. I never took them back and they have hung in my closet, with tags attached since then. Yesterday I wore those pants.
AW 3: Tomorrow is my birthday, but today is Julie's. Happy birthday Julie!

Re: AW/Chit Chat Thursday!
Happy Birthday, Julie!
Happy Almost-Birthday and Almost-Vegas to Leslie! And congrats on the pants... woo hoo!
Thank you ladies SO much for the support and encouragement yesterday. It was such a long day, and really frustrating at times, but we held it together! Although our officer still has to make his "official" recommendation to the court, he told us as he was leaving that he had never in 23 years done a home study that was such a pleasure to do, and he was honored to play a small part in bringing our family together legally. He said that unless something crazy and unexpected comes up (like Jack's biological father throwing a hissy fit or something) in the next couple weeks, we should get a court date ASAP and the case will be closed. WHEW!
Chelsea- Congrats!! That is so awesome and I am sure it is such a relief to have that over and done with! :-)
I am starting to feel the effects of bootcamp today. My shoulders are pretty sore. And I have to go do it again tonight! :-p I'm excited to go, but afraid of doing more pushups!
Also, I have a wedding on Saturday that is vintage themed and haven't bought a dress (I know I know....such a procrastinator!). I am going to go on my lunch break to Grapevine Mills to try and find something. Anyone have any ideas on what stores I could look at? I'm not super familiar with what is at that mall.

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone!!! I only have 3 1/2 hours of work left until next Wednesday. After seeing Bill so stressed last night at 11 PM working on something that someone else was supposed to do, I'm so glad we're getting away for a few days. This time tomorrow, I will be chillin' by the Polynesian pool at one of their cabanas and getting ready to have an early birthday dinner with the princesses. :-)
Happy Birthday, Leslie! Have a great birthday in Vegas! BTW, I followed your lead and went really dark purple on my nails. I kind of like it.
Happy Birthday Julie and Happy early Birthday Leslie, since I am sure you will not be on while in Vegas and congrats on the pants, that is awesome!
Chelsea, YAY that is so exciting and glad that it went good.
Sarah, I am dying today. I cannot squat at all, so sitting down is more like falling down and I am scared I wont be able to do anything tonight.
Happy Birthday to Julie and Early Happy Birthday to Leslie! Hope you both have a great time on your trips!
That's great news Chelsea!
We're donating Chris' old car today and I'm excited to head to Houston to hang out with my friend this weekend, yay for Friday off!

I can't stop yawning this morning, and I have a very long day ahead of me (I'm not complaining though, it means more work hours!). Caffeine is going to be my BFF today!
Happy birthday Julie!
Happy birthday Leslie and have an awesome time in Las Vegas!
Congrats Chelsea!
My news is that I am working today and a half day tomorrow, and then I am officially on maternity leave.

Leslie - you are a rockstar and an inspiration. I am so proud of you. Happy early birthday, since you won't be on tomorrow, and best of luck in Vegas!
Julie - Happy happy birthday, lady!!
Chelsea - glad that's behind you, even though we all knew it was going to go smoothly
Kathy - EEEEK! I can't believe it's already time! I still remember the day you came on and told us you were trying and how overwhelming all of the information was, and now look at you!
My AW: I get to go to III Forks today for lunch, for a continuing eduction presentation. Sometimes I'm really glad I chose this profession - accountants sure know how to eat
Also, I am SO tempted to buy today's groupon for Christmas light installation... but I only have one tree in my front yard, and the package comes with two trees, so I feel like it'd be wasteful.
Happy birthday, Julie and Leslie!
Chelsea, congratulations. H's HS friends have been in the process of adopting three siblings and reading their blog about the whole thing is just amazing. It takes a lot to be a parent, but I think it takes even more to be an adoptive parent.
AW: So, if you were over on TK, you might have seen that H has a job in Pampa (which he's started working at in Alvarado and we have no idea when they'll call him and tell him to move on up). So, the realtor who'd shown us some houses called up MIL the other day to ask if we'd made a decision. MIL told the realtor it was going to depend on where I can get a job, and the realtor (who is 89) declared, "Oh, I talked to the superintendent at church -- he wants to meet her." Oh, small towns.
<a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v123/magicwombat/?action=view
I'm saying this, because I'm from a small town. You should definitely talk to the superintendent at the church, because even if you don't want a job at the church, he probably knows EVERYONE. And he can probably help you get a job teaching.
I think she meant that she superintendent of the school district goes to the church, and that's where the realtor talked to him.

OH! Haha. That makes sense.
Congrats on the AWs and Happy Birthday ladies!
I get my hair done tomorrow and a pedi on Saturday with my best friend! I'm so excited.
I'm glad to get a little me time in before I start my treatment on Monday!
Yay for birthdays and AWs! Leslie, happy birthday and have a great time in Vegas and good luck on your run--I'm so jealous! (For Vegas, not for the run.
) And Julie I already said Happy Birthday to you but so excited for your trip. Everyone better post pics!

So remember that sticky we used to have about "Things to do in DFW". Well apparently stickies unsticky after a month or so. Then, instead of just filing back under their date... they delete themselves. So... just fyi, in case you were wondering where that sticky went.
Here's the recipe: http://healthifiedkitchen.blogspot.com/2010/08/bacon-ranch-slowcooker-chicken.html
I used regular bacon, not turkey bacon, because that's what I had. The calorie count shown on here is before the pasta, just fyi. Also, I made it up on Monday, with frozen chicken breasts, and stuck it in the fridge until yesterday morning. I think it probably cooked for closer to 10 hours on low - I shredded the chicken in the crock pot with forks, and then cooked it for the last hour while waiting on J to get home.
Tiffany - do you always make sure that your meat is completely submerged in liquid when cooking? If any is sticking out, even a teensy bit, it'll be dry and tough. I always have some stuff burned onto the edges of the bowl, but overall I have never burned anything....
Also, speaking of crock pots. I have these crock pot liners that I use - think of like a baking bag? Anyway, I love them, because you just rinse the bowl out and done. Well, I've been cooking a lot in the crock pot lately, and I have decided that I can actually taste the bag - it's kind of metallic tasting, even though it's a plastic bag. I am very frustrated, because I love how easy it makes cleaning up, but I am going to have to stop using them because I just can't get over the taste.

I hope you have a good trip too!
