Have you ever cried over a celeb death?
Re: Have you ever cried over a celeb death?
Me too!!!! Loved that show!
I cry at nearly every "tribute" slideshow on every awards show!
This. He was one of my favorite actors, and just seemed like such a genuinely nice guy.
Agree on Jerry Orbach too...when they talked about that book with his love letters to his wife, I lost it.
For some reason when Bernie Mac died I was really upset...I had just watched an interview with him saying he was glad he could finally relax and spend time with his family, and then he died. So sad.
Heath Ledger
Patrick Swayze
Same here.
I think the pictures of family members usually get to me the most - I cried when indycar driver Dan Wheldon died last month. He was well known for being the nicest guy and had two young boys. The pictures of him with his boys after he won the Indy 500 in May make me so sad.
I remember being really sad when Diana died too. And I don't remember if I cried but I was really sad when LeRoi Moore from the Dave Matthews Band died.
I will most likely cry when Steve Martin dies. Love him and my dad and I always watched his movies/SNL stuff when I was growing up.
I was thinking if I ever did and then came across this. I was at the Jimmy Buffett concert and I remember reading it on facebook and I cried a little bit. I am a huge Springsteen E St band fan and it really hit me. I'm sure I will tear up when the Boss dies as well.
OMG that episode crushed me. I had to stop watching the show.
I cried when Princess Di died. I was a teenage mess, I even did a project on her the next year in my geography class and played Elton John's tribute to her.
Alyiah, Heath Ledger , Brad Renfroe and Britney Murphey upset me a lot, but I didn't cry.
I saw John Ritter at a local event a couple weeks before he died and his death really shook me. I didn't cry then, but now 8 Simple Rules can make me cry at the drop of a hat.
Frank Sinatra
I was sad when JFK, Jr., William Buckley, Ronald Reagan, and Elizabeth Taylor died. I would also be if Tom Hanks or Madonna died.
I was incredibly shocked when Paul Wellstone, Princess Diana, and Michael Jackson died.
Heath Ledger. I was (am) a huge fan.
Also, Steve Irwin.
Patrick Swayze...I had a huge crush on him since Dirty Dancing!
Michael Jackson...he was always misunderstood and criticized
Christopher Reeve...his wife was such a strong, devoted, loving wife ...I remember in an interview --either by Diane Sawyer--she asked chris reeve and his wife if the "still" had sex! I was life WTMF how rude!
He said we make love in a very special "different' kind of way......I cried so much. You could tell he and his wife loved each other soo soo much.
He had such tender soul. RIP
I've never cried over a celebrity's death, but there were a few that I felt sadder about. I was 10 when John Candy died and I heard it on the car radio when my family was going somewhere ... I loved Spaceballs and Uncle Buck so his death bummed me out a bit.
I found out Princess Diana had died because I couldn't sleep and had flipped on the TV to watch Saturday Night Live. I felt really bad for William and Harry, especially because they're around my age and I just couldn't imagine losing a mom so young.
Princess Di. I cried when we were watching the funeral. Mostly because watching William and Harry walk with their dad sporting very calm faces. I remember asking my mom why they were not crying, and her explaining (to my very young self at the time) that the were not really allowed to show those emotions infromt of their people. Then there was a shot of them under a bridge where they thought no one was looking, and Harry and William both leaned into their dad and he had his arms around them. When they got to the end of the bridge, they released their embrace. I will never forget that.
Also, when I saw pictures of Michelle after Heaths death splashing in the beach at his memorial.
I typically cry for the family members left behind, but thats with any death I suppose, not just celebrities.
Aw! I didn't know that!

I do agree with this.
I also saw Brad Paisley in concert once, and he sang, "When I Get Where I'm Going," and there was a photo montage in the background that was filled with photos of people who had died that year, I definitely cried through that entire thing.

Steve Irwin and Capt Phil (from Deadliest Catch)
I still get really sad when I think about either one of them.
ETA: Also, Dan Wheldon. I just feel awful for his little boys.
Don't think I've ever cried over a celebrity but I didn't know about Daddy and this is truly upsetting.
Definitely Princess Di. I stayed up all night for updates. It was just such a horrible shock.
Christopher Reeves was *the* Superman. Ya know how every generation has their own idea of who their superman is, well he was mine. I used to be an avid horseback rider too, so the accident and his death hit close to home.
Patrick Swayze...got a little teary eyed too. Always thought he was strong enough to beat the cancer. When he passed, I kept going back to Dirty Dancing & Ghost thinking how this perfectly handsome man is gone...wow.
I cried with Diana's funeral...how she left, leaving two young boys without a mother due to a tragic car accident. Just sad...she was so young and still had such a full life to live.
