LOL - The Amish Don?t Get Autism? And They Don?t Get Vaccinations ? Possible Link?
Re: LOL - The Amish Don?t Get Autism? And They Don?t Get Vaccinations ? Possible Link?
The ignorance of people surrounding vaccinations is astounding.
I had a lady at work tell me I probably harmed my fetus by getting the flu shot.
Not as well as I could have if I'd been raised Amish. Thanks Mom.
And if it's a vitamin D/sunlight thing, get my freakishly pale ass a communication board, stat.
Actually, this is true. Buggies often get run off the road, especially at night, since they only have orange safety triangles vs. lights and whatnot.
Being Amish = increased chance of death in a buggy!

? Do you have a source for this - any trials?
I am a runner, knitter, scientist, DE-IVF veteran, and stage III colon cancer survivor.
I am not aware of any completed trials, but here is a good Scientific American article describing the issue from 2009: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=vitamin-d-and-autism
I live in an area described in the article, and have heard this potential connection discussed often in both the scientific and medical communities.
To make you feel my love.
