Re: OL Tuesday

  • Dear Katy Perry,

I never thought of making out to Radio Head.  I guess I've been missing out all these years.

    Dear Spinach Salad,

I enjoyed meeting you last night.  Let's hang out a couple of times a week.

Dear Honeycrisp Apples from Central Market,

You are the bomb!  I wish you could be in my life 365 (or 366 as the case may be).

    Dear Nesties,

I hate vegetables.  However, we got a low score on a test that they run to see how likely we are to get macular degeneration.  Bill scored lower than I did.  So we bought some vitamins from the optometrist and we're trying to eat more spinach.  He also suggested kale.  I looked at the green monster website but I thought that the recipe section was small compared to what some of you girls were drinking.  Do you have other websites you visit for these?

  • PS:

    Dear Rascal,

I know you like being outside but Bill is ready to close you up in a room during the day if you pull a stunt like you did this morning.  Running two houses down and then hissing at Bill didn't really put him in a good mood.  Also, going into the neighbors back yard and then their house when they opened the door last night didn't do you any favors either.

  • Dear Nesties-

My holiday season/Christmas vacation didn't really turn out like I had hoped it would.  Here are the details:http://secretsofsmc.blogspot.com/2011/12/not-blog-i-intended-to-write.html

    - A Nestie who welcomes the distraction of coming back to work

  • Sara,

I'm so sorry that you had to go through that.  I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

  • Sara -

My heart breaks for you.  I am so sorry.  T's & P's for you and your sweet husband.

  • Dear Julie-

Dr. Oz featured these on his show and there are a few recipes on his website. There are also books out there.  I've tried switching things up with different fruit and milk but nothing compares to banana and peanut butter with chocolate milk or cocoa.  Vitamix also has some recipes http://www.vitamix.com/recipes/.  I would suggest starting off with smoothies that you like and then just add kale or spinach to them.  I've heard people complain that kale is tart so they add ginger but I don't notice a taste difference between that and spinach.  You could also make kale chips.

    Dear Sara-

I'm sorry to hear about this but it sounds like you have a wonderful support system.

    Dear face-

It's been several days since I last used the lotion that seems to irritate you.  Let the aggravation go so that I stop clawing my face off.

    Dear NCIS-

Oh how I've missed you.  Although you had a marathon on Christmas Eve, which we did partake in, the holiday break was just not the same without you airing on USA during the day...darn movies.

    Dear Firefox-

I was sad to bid you adieu yesterday but you were frustrating me with how often you would shut down randomly.  I've sang your praises since discovering you because IE sucks but I now get to figure out Chrome.

    Dear DH-

It was a wonderful treat getting to spend so much time together last week.

    Dear Shortgirl,

Thanks for the tips.  I wonder if I can break the new blender to get the Vitamix.  I really want one.

  • Dear Sara - so sorry to hear that. I hope you get back to 100% soon, and i'll be sending good T&P's your way.

Dear brother - i'm excited that you get to come home in like 2 1/2 weeks! We miss you! I hope basic isn't treating you too harshly.

Dear new tattoo - i'd appreciate it if you would stop hurting. It's been 2 days...and i'm wearing nice loose pants just for you...but seriously...cut it out!

  • Sara - I'm sitting here in tears myself for you guys.   I'm truly sorry that you guys had to go through that.  My prayers are with you.
  • Thank you all very much for your kind words and thoughts.

is that tonight!? :) i've been wondering when it was to come back on. i havent seen any commercials or anything for it! YAY :) made my day!

  • Praying for you, Sara. I can't even imagine. I know from my experience with miscarriage that when these tragedies happen, it makes the future conception you can be excited about SO much sweeter. As trite as it sounds when you're in pain, God really does have a plan.

Our blender lasted like a month or 2 with me making the smoothies so just give it some time, lol.

Yes ma'am! I've had it marked on my calendar for about a month! They are having a marathon of the first season today! whoop whoop!

  • Sara -  My heart broke reading that post.  I am so sorry and am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
  • Sara,

Prayers to you! How scary for you to go through that right before the holidays. Sounds like a great loving support system you have.

    Dear Brain,

You've decided not to function anymore huh?

  • Sara - I am heartsick to read your blog. You and Shane are in my T&P. If you need someone to talk to, please know I am here. Big, huge hugs to you.

I posted the January challenge for the O:BLF girls.

I go to the fertility doctor in an hour and want to throw up. I didn't think I would feel this way at all about going but I am nervous, sad and anxious. If I am honest I am scared to death that we are going to find out things I don't want to know in the next couple of months and that we will be unable to move forward from here either financially or physically.

  • Sara - I am so so sorry.  T&Ps to you, dear.

Jaymi - I love Chrome, and I normally hate switching to new things.  I wish I could have it on my work computer also.

Leslie - Good luck to you.  I'll be thinking of you!

I am not excited to be back at work today - I feel slightly cheated on my vacation, because I had so much stuff planned for around the house, and just couldn't do any of it because I was so sick that I couldn't hardly get off the couch.  But, I'm SO looking forward to our little trip to Fort Lauderdale this weekend, so I guess being at work for 3.5 days is tolerable :)

You can do it!  It will all go well and you will be on to the next step in the 'having a baby' journey.  If you get nervous, just know that all of us are praying for you!

  • Sara - I am so sorry.  T&Ps to you and Shane.

Dear Christmas Break, I wish you weren't over.  A week and a half off was great!  It is hard coming back to work, but I'm glad to get back in a normal routine again.

Dear New Year, I welcome you and I hope you turn out to be fabulous!  I can't wait to see what God has in store!

Weren't we supposed to be having a G2G in the waiting room?  I'll bring the big foam fingers and noisemakers.

  • Sara, I'm so sorry to hear.  T&Ps coming your way.  I was in tears reading your blog.  I hope you recover fully in the next few weeks and I know the emotional scars will take longer but I hope you and Shane know you have a great support system.  GL!

Leslie, GL today.  I hope you get the answers you want and can move forward with the process.

I'm glad things are back to normal again with school, work, etc.  I like my routine way too much to have it all messed up.
