Keep your whore uterus out of my face

I agree about the hospitals and I certainly am fine with that. I guess whatset me off was Wendy's doctors "comfort" comment. No one likes being dismissed. I have been in the past over both my endo and IBS. Will either kill me? No. And ywah it is a comfort issue for sure. But that doesn't mean that either are things I don't struggle with. It just hurts to feel Luke your doctor doesn't see your needs as being important

Dude, I love you but with that sort of overreaction, I can imagine how you feel dismissed since most doctors won't ever react in an alarmist fashion to keep a patient calm even if a situation is serious. The last thing they want to do is spin someone up about an issue unnecessarily.

For most people, Endo (and IBS) are a matter of comfort. Both suck, absolutely (and I've actually gotten a preliminary diagnosis of both myself so I'm really not calling this fibromyalgia here), but I'm not concerned that my life is in danger here if I don't take BCP.

  • The Catholic hospitals only give a shiit about your life/death/comfort as long as it conforms with their ideals.  There was a nun here that was excommunicated because she performed (or approved?  I don't remember) an abortion on a patient that would have died without it.  The hospital would have rather seen the woman die than to have performed an abortion (and if the woman died, so would the fetus obviously)....but whatever, I guess life isn't as important as they make it out to be.

Given the choice, I would never go to a Catholic hospital because I think they should all go out of business.  I don't think religion has a place in general healthcare, especially institutions that have a federal non-profit status. (same for schools).

  • My life is in danger if I don't take BCP.

But, that is only because getting pregnant would likely result in my walking onto the train tracks.

You are totally dragging me down with this endo debate.  Can we please re-focus on the whore uterus getting sins all over the hands of good Christians?  And the fact that people type "G-d" like it's a bad word?

My limited and potentially flawed understanding is that some Jewish people choose to write "G-d" as a sign of reverence/respect.

She is probably Jewish.  They often do that.

I snickered at this: I hope they quietly bless your baby in the nursery, it's going to need it.

  • I hate when a known troll comes up with all the funny lines. It takes some of the fun out of it to know they aren't as indignant as you think. But I'm sick of the endo debate too.

What the hospital CAN do and what they should be allowed to do are two different things to me. Sure, it's a business, they have a religion and they base their decisions on that- fine. But, I don't agree with it. Lucky for me, like I said, I have Valley, Hackensack & Englewood all unreligiously affiliated right near me and I don't have to go to Holy Name. I can shoot an arrow (not that I could) and hit a hospital. So, for me, it isn't an issue. I just feel for people who don't get a choice. Plus, I'm not having anymore kids.

I just think regardless of business, money, and right to have whatever policies they want, that involving religion in science and life-saving seems totally f'ed up to me and I don't like it.

  • The fact that the baby boards are so easy to rile up (come on, there is no part of "whore uterus" that sounds remotely serious) is my greatest regret about not getting pregnant. Maybe one day...

I live in Catholicville so the prospect of getting denied a tubal/BCP/morning after pill seems normal to me.

Winger, they would not give a single fukc about your endo because why is your life more important than that of your unborn child*???

*unborn child being a theoretical egg which could in theory be fertilized and in theory get implanted and in theory carry to term; but the possibility existing means it is a human life and must be protected.

  • It's a catch 22 for them debt. Endo causes infertility so wouldn't treating it BE in their interest? And you better procreate or at least fake it for the good of the Internet.

  • I think if you're taking federal funds and getting tax breaks then you're not entirely a "private business" and should leave medical decisions to doctors and their patients. And yeah, if I lived in a rural area or an ambulance deposited me at Hypotheical Jehovah Witness Hospital and I died because I didn't get a blood transfusion, yes, I think there should be hell to pay. If they didn't want to preform medical services they shouldn't open a hospital.

Oh, and the hospital I chose to birth Dimi at partially because it was non-religious was bought out by a Catholic group when I was around 30 weeks. I was told it would not interfere with my care. But then when I did my intake I was told that they couldn't do a tubal if I ended up having a csection. And driving further away would have meant giving birth on the side of the road.

Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman

Assuming you could find a doctor to take you. I moved cross country at 28 weeks. I had no idea I would be rejected by sooooo many OBs because it is too high risk for them to take a patient that far along.
