S/O Poll re: Senior Portraits in the Yearbook
Re: S/O Poll re: Senior Portraits in the Yearbook
We took senior photos through one studio but were allowed to submit any of the pictures taken (not just tux/drape) for the yearbook.
HISD, 1996
ours was the exact same as yours except the girls could only choose between a white boa thingy or a black velvet smock (no colors). it was taken by a different professional photographer than the underclassmen - and the pics were way more expensive. my parents didn't buy any.
graduated 1999 from Jersey Village (Houston) - public school.
a lot of the seniors also got professional "senior portraits" done by an separate pro photographer. i didn't; they were too expensive.
Boys wore a tux jacket, girls had the drape. Would have been nice if we could have chosen our own clothing.
Katy HS 1997
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted and used against you. My Blog
Boys had to wear a suit & tie, girls could do their own clothing. I did take some with the drape thing though. I remember the senior portraits being in color and all other classes being b&w.
Klein ISD, 2004
We were allowed to wear what we wanted, within reason (meaning nothing like that chick is wearing in the senior portrait circulating around the news right now). We went to a professional photographer to have them done, and he took a bunch of different pictures of each senior in 2-3 different outfits, and we got to choose which one we wanted in the yearbook.
I graduated from an all-girls private high school in Houston in 1997.
Senior portraits were color, all others were in black and white and freshmen-juniors wore our school uniforms.
For the yearbook photos, we all wore an Oiler blue graduation gown. (That and white were our school colors.) But then we had the option of taking additional photos, and one of the set-ups was as you described: black tuxes for guys, choice of boa color for girls. (If I recall, the colors were red, pink, black, white, and maybe blue?)
Graduated in 1988, Alief ISD.
The senior photos were large and the rest of the classes were all the same size.
