Feels like Monday all over again for me.
2 Mondays in one week is hardly fair.
Re: Randoms for Hump Day
I think the only fix for that is 2 Friday's or drinks on Thursday and Friday.
I went grocery shopping this AM and got to Meijer and realized I didn't have my coupons. So I have to go back and get my coupon items tomorrow. I have a bunch of apples now since there were $0.69. Apples are a good snack. Has anyone tried the Pi?ata Apple. There are Yummy!!!! There a bit more expensive at $1.29 but the are larger too.
Tonight I'm going to try and pasta ham and asparagus dish.
We put an offer on a house yesterday. We went a little low, and I think there is a lot of interest in the house, so we probably won't get it. I didn't really mind until I got to work this morning. Now I'm kicking myself. The less houses we get, the longer I'm stuck in this crappy place. Ughhh. I want out.
Mol: How many properties would you need to have before you leave?
Wendy: That is a pretty hard choice. I'm all for technology. What is the herb class for? Cooking, general purpose?
I had a dream lastnight that I found out I was pregnant late into the pregnancy, and I was trying to find H to tell him. Before I could get to him, my mom announced it to everyone. I was so mad at her.
Ha. Dreams are weird.
Not sure. There are so so so many factors to consider. The positive cash flow from 6 properties would probably cover my income, but then we have to consider my benefits (401(k) match, health insurance, etc.) Plus H would have to agree to it. He wants to quit his job too.
And then we'd probably have the battle of keep working + have the rentals and enjoy a lot of extra income, or maintain our same income + quit my job. Our goal has always been to grow our income, so quitting will sort of be a step back.
I don't know. So much to consider.
We'll probably end up compromising and taking part time (or less demanding, in H's case) jobs. That way we'll still have income/benefits, but a higher quality of life as well. Best of both worlds.
It's my Dad's Birthday today.
I'm quite sore from yesterday's workout and am sitting on the sofa with a heating pad on my back and trying to only use my left arm for the computer as my right one is more sore than the left. It isn't easy.
What is up with crazy people in the news. Guy bites woman's nose off. Guy breaks in to storage place and can't get out.
"Really January Weather" is on it's way. I guess that means were done with this pleasant March/April weather.
I dislike water. No matter what I can't drink the amount I should. I'm horrible at it.
I know how you feel - that's why I drink Crystal Lite.
I have crystal Lite and I picked up a lemon and some limes and still have some oranges. I was doing good last month but I hit some sort of wall in the last week. I think the wall is called Diet Pepsi.
I have no clue about the walking. SS was 2 1/2 when I got to him.
Haha. Yeah, actually it wasn't a lot of fun. We lost a lot of money. Boo.
First off, don't beat yourself up too much for being worried. You're his mom, it's your job. Every mom worries about stuff.
Secondly, you are right. You just need to be patient! He will get there, before you know it. Seriously, it sounds like he's on the verge. Like in a week or two he'll be walking.
And to answer your question, no we didn't really do anything to help him start, other than the usual holding his hands.
Bigger kids start walking "later" too, and from what you've told us, Noah definitely falls into that category.
Do you have a push toy like this
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3312372&searchURL=false
This might help him feel confident in taking his first steps. Half the time the kids don't even realize they are walking when they push on the toys like that. You could also trying a sturdy toy grocery cart if it is at the right height. That fact that he is crusing is a good sign.
I would try Deanna's Playhouse in Holland and test out the toys they have there. See if he takes to something before you buy it.
Good morning!
D&MJ- I hope you get the house! Do you & your H like being landlords or is it like a means to an end type of thing? I have a condo that I'm renting out. I don't like being a landlord so much. But I think it's b/c there's a third party involved (association). I imagine it's different when you are totally in charge of the property. B is renting his out out to his cousin. We are trying to see if he's interested in a rent to own. We want our own house dangit!!
Charity- I'm very glad your tongue is better!!
Amachuta- I think he will be walking and running around in no time. He's just taking it slow. Soon you'll be thinking "I wish this lil boy would stay still!" You are not doing anything wrong. I don't have kids but I just wanted to tell you that i'm sure you are doing a wonderful job.
Goals for the day: homework, find new Drs out there, create a workout/homework schedule I can commit to, cook dinner, and go to bed a tad earlier.
I'm hoping that by telling you all my goals, I'll be accountable :-) What are your goals for today?
I enjoy it, so far. I guess it is a means to an end, with the end being doing what I truly love, which would be rehabbing houses and then selling them.
For now, I rehab and then rent. It's not so bad, but I also have been very lucky and had pretty good tenants.
I'm taking the girls to their first ballet class today; it is a six week course at the gym we belong to. Allison is sooooooo excited. She keeps asking "mama, how many more minutes it be until dance class."
It doesn't start until 11:45 - which is kind of annoying. Why would you have a kids class smack in the middle of the day, right around lunch time. 10 am would be so much better and then we could move on with our day.
I guess I should finish cleaning theh house and get cleaned up myself.
Going to bed earlier is always a goal of mine, and I always fail. Hehe.
It makes my blood boil when I get a text from H asking me to call him, so I do immediately, and then he doesn't answer.
Ugh, stop wasting my time.
Yay for ballet! I'll bet the girls will have a blast. Willa wants to take ballet. Or piano. Or karate. Or guitar. She does eenie meanie miney moe every day and comes up with something different. We're making a list, and will slowly work through it this year.
Amachuta, my brothers were both big, big kids. They didn't walk until 18 months. And they had 2 big sisters (and youngest brother had a brother) to encourage them. I'll bet he's excelling in other area. Is he chattier than other kids his age? Better hand eye coordination? It sounds like he does well with distributing things around the house.
He'll catch on, and then you won't be able to stop him.
My parents gave the kids a membership to the kids museum as part of their Christmas gift. We still haven't received anything from the museum to acknowledge this. Grrr.
I took photos of all of the Christmas ornaments as I put them away. I plan to put something together with the photo and a sentence or two about the significance of the ornament. Some of them are from Jim's grandparent's collection from when they lived in this house, and some have very specific stories. My mom gave me a bunch of old family ornaments when Jim and I got married, but I don't remember why some of them are important, and I'd like the kids to have a history.
I thought about making a snapfish photobook up the next time they have a good deal on those, but then next year, we'll have at least 4 new ones, and it'll be dated. Maybe I'll put it on the blog. Does anyone have a great idea for me?
It's supposed to snow tomorrow and Friday. Does anyone know when it's supposed to start and how much they are predicting? I am getting conflicting reports for the news stations.
Yes trying to go to bed earlier is a huge feat. Me and H are going to have to skype earlier or something. It doesn't help that I'm a bad sleeper so I wake up during the night or super early. I get up at 6:15, but I usually wake up at 5:30. I hate that. I enjoy my sleep!
I think i want to attempt to workout before work. The gym opens at 5. Early morning workouts are no problem for me when it's light and not freezing. hmmm...
