Re: Qotd Wednesday

  • Though I've LOVED the European trips we've had (visits to BF in London, Italy w/Otto w/ and w/o his family, Scotland w/Otto's fam), when I think "vacation" I mentally go right to Jamaica - just me and Otto. The best time was when we revisited our honeymoon resort (Couples Negril) for Thanksgiving in 2006. Six nights of nothing but relaxing, swimming, beaching, eating, drinking! Heaven!

  • i'm late to this, but my favorite vacation was a week (ish) long trip to the Cotswolds, an area of "outstanding national beauty" in England. I'm a junkie for Brit period pieces with stunning scenery, charming towns and amazing gardens. I was not disappointed.  It was everything I expected to be & so, so much more. My husband, not an anglophile, even loved it. I actually cried as we were driving back to London to leave!

we are currently investigating the possibility of one day buying a small vacation home in that general area or, at the very least, making sure that we're saving enough to spend significant periods of time there (in rented cottages) when we're retired.
