Re: Randoms for Hump Day
I usually placed the orders the day before.
That sucks. Is it for this weekend? Call to see if you could pick it up right at noon. Start the party with some of the party games or an activity to keep the kids busy.
For Mia's b-day we brought donuts to the party on my side of the family because most of the kids don't like cake. We pulled up to the donut shop and they were closed because it was a Sunday. Brian thought I was crazy since I was shocked. Sometimes I forget that I am in W. Michigan. We had to stop off at Meijer.
If your order is 10 pizzas+, I would call and explain the situation and see if they can still have the pizzas ready for you at 11:30. Staff likely comes in before the noon opening time and since it's a catering style order, you might be okay. I would also rave to them about how much you love their pizza and how you have your heart set on it. Because it's a local business and not a chain, they might be more likely to accommodate you.
Whooo hoooo!!! DP!!! Go Girl!!! WHOOO HOO!
It's only going to be for 5 pizzas, 50-pc hot wings, and 2 family sized garlic and cheese breads. About $115 after my $5 off coupon, but before tax.
Also, I really don't have a good idea on how many people are coming, so I have no idea if I'm getting enough food. Ugh.
It's supposed to just be a small family party, but people keep getting adding.
I think I may need to beef up the order.
Sweet!!!! Way 2 Go!!!!
Thanks, ladies! I felt like everyone here, who has been so incredibly supportive, deserved to know just how "yay" the result was.
I've mentioned this before, but it definitely still rings true--The outpouring of support and encouragement from all of you has been so very meaningful to me during this time. I don't think I could ever accurately express how powerful the impact has been. Knowing I had so many people rooting for me, many of whom I barely know and have never met in real life, is incredible and amazing. This probably deserves its own post to make sure that more of you see it. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!
Standing Ovation DP!! You go girl! I think you'll be doing just fine in the rest of your classes. Keep it up lady!!
Thanks! And I totally hope you're right!
YAY!!!!!
Who's kicking law school butt? DP! Great job.
Des and Mol, that's not a huge order, but give them a call - tonight even - and see if your order would be worth them opening a little early. I worked at a Jet's in high school (back when they delivered by dinosaur), and if you talked to the manager, they would often accomodate that kind of order. If they open at noon, and you'd like to pick up a little early, it's not that big of a deal.
GVSU, poor Allison! Willa had a late accident last year. It was so weird, and awful for her (and, um, me). I'd chalk it up to being excited and not being aware of anything other than those ballet slippers and using them for the first time.
I made lemon lentil soup tonight. It was pretty tasty.
Oh, gosh (sad alert) I don't know if any of you caught wind of the "someone hit a dog being walked and then drove away" story on FB tonight.
A friend of Jim's friend saw it all happen, and tracked the guy down. She posted on FB, and people shared to try to find the driver. Jim shared the story, and someone said, "that was my dog."
It was the dog that a family who we know through church had adopted just a month ago.
Heartbroken for them.
That is so awful. So sorry for your friend.
Wow, thanks. I don't know that it makes me worthy of being anyone's hero, but I appreciate that!
