I like it here, but I don't love it. We've been here three years. We'll go back to Colorado, probably relatively soon.

I'm a lifelong Seattleite and absolutely love it here. I can only imagine living in a couple other areas in the U.S. and being as happy, but it would generally require sacrificing something (e.g., San Francisco would be great, but cost of living is insane). I love our geography, climate, political leanings, environmental conscientiousness, technological savvy... I dislike very few things about our area, and none that would be improved by living elsewhere.
I hate when people complain about living here, especially if they moved from somewhere else. I know a couple people like this, and it's hard to resist telling them to move back where they came from if they hate it here so much.
I totally agree with the bolded. If you hate it here so much then move to a place that you would be happier and quit complaining.
Wow.... really? Let's just tell everyone to go back to where they came from if they have any complaints? That's pretty open-minded of you.

I hope they mean this for the people who are extreme complainers. I had a coworker who complained Every. Single. Day. about living here, it got old. She had no ties either. I hated to say it but it was good for her to go home.

Yes I'm talking about the Every. Single. Day. complainers. I work with a couple of them and it is something that has come up multiple times in one conversation. These are people that don't have ties here and have said they could easily leave.

Okay, that I can understand a little more. I don't think I actually complain every day... but I do make a lot of comments about the cold in the winter. But we do have ties here and I couldn't just pick up and leave.

Did you ever ask those ppl why they stay if they don't like it? I would have... Embarrassed

I also was referring to the constant/daily complainers. One of my coworkers is one. She stays because of her boyfriend... but she complains about him all the time, too.

It's awkward.
