Kasa, are you talking about a particular story, or the design?

    Design.

Meh, maybe it's just me than.  I hate how much scrolling is required to view the headlines.  And I think that all of the fonts and images are too large/bright/bold.

  • Design, got it.  It took me a while to click "post."

DP, I've found that 40% of a paper's difficulty is getting that first paragraph written.  Good luck.

    So true!  And thank you.

I know this is a terrible attitude to have, but it's for a pass/fail class and as long as I actually do *something* I'm not in any danger of failing.  It will be okay in the end and I know it will turn out fine, it's definitely a matter of getting started.

This semester is much more intense in terms of workload (more reading, job searching/applying, learning how to write yet another completely different kind of paper), but at least there isn't that feeling of panic and insecurity that I had last semester.

I think it's smart to put more effort where it's required and less where it's not. Time and energy aren't infinite resources. Good luck getting started, though.

  • My tenants are signing another 6 month lease.  This will make a total of a 2 year stay (thus far.)  Party!!!  And hopefully they stay even longer.

If I can get 2 years out of each tenant, then I only have to deal with 6 different peoples before the house is paid off.  That is not too shabby.

I finished my GRE on Monday, and got my application in to Western in on Tuesday. I really, really hope my GRE scores "cancel out" my crappy undergrad GPA... I never worried about grades in school, and until now they really didn't matter. Ah well, que sera, sera.

Exciting!  Good luck.  Is this for an MBA?

    Yay for no turnover!

No, I'm applying to the School of Communication.

  • Jared's girl- Good luck. I'm sure you'll be just fine. Wgat are you going for?

Molly- yay for extended leases. I hope to get another year out of my tenants, then try to sell the blasted thing lol

Is anyone following the Jane Bashara investigation? Thoughts?

    Very cool.

  • B&G, I think the Bashara investigation is probably more of a local interest.  I've read a little, but now it's getting a little sensationalistic.

JGE: Great job!  What kind of program w/in communications?  Is it offered at the GR campus, or will you be going to Kzoo?

Kasa, all of my Mlive posts are lagging, and it makes me look like I'm not reading anything you're writing.  I really am paying attention, I promise.

  • You know what kind of surprises me. There are so many GR people on the Knot boards but a lot of them don't make it over here. Does that seem surprising or not?

I don't think it's a terrible attitude.  I think you're developing coping techniques and learning how to survive.

I have class this weekend. I need to write up a career counseling cirruculum, and have only an outline.  That's today's project.  We also have an exam.  It will be an interesting weekend: we have a subsitute professor.  Tongue Tied

Not really.  Planning a wedding is exciting and it's fun to talk and get ideas with other brides, but once the wedding is over, I assume most people go back to normal life and don't have time to chat on the internet.

Related, I was kind of surprised how many people came out of the woodwork with the recent pediatrician (I think that was it?) post.

  • Good morning! I am happy to report our house has been puke free for a whole day now. Haha! I really hope DH doesn't get it! Hoek, you are my Bunco hero. I love that game, but have never done that good! You rock! WOP, I love your new siggy pic. She is freakin' adorable, love her!

  • Its a murder investigation. Lady was found dead in her car a few miles from home. Husband is the suspect. Now there are all these twists and turns: a hit man, a sex dungeon... It's a bit crazy.

Just wondering...do you all see the spaces I try to put between paragraphs? I do it and then when I post, they disappear on my end. It is irritating me. But if you see proper paragraph spacing I will feel better!

Glad to hear your family is recovering! Are you in a bunco group? I've been a part of this group for almost 3 years. I never do that well and usually lose the money I put in. But it is so fun to get together once a month for food, wine and fun.

  • Busy Morning girls.

I'm okay with the new Mlive home page. I wonder if the rest will get redone as well.

I have to agree with Kasa. I think we must have a good amount of lurkers around. For me coming in here is just part of my daily routine.

    JGE: GL at Western

Holy crap it's Thursday already. This week feels like it is flying by.

I have played a few times. The group I was playing with kinda fizzled.

  • Mol, I do not have class every weekend. Our group takes all classes together.  We have one course every 8 weeks.  During that 8 weeks, we meet for 3 weekends: Friday from 6-10, and Sat. from 8-5.  That gives us 2 classes a semester.  It's a weird way to do courses, and I am not a huge fan.    Because of the format, we often have assignments before the class even begins.  I think I only have 4 more courses after this weekend.
