Get ready for me to be a post whore today.

We are scheduling my cerclage for 2 weeks out from now. And I have 4 weeks left at work. iaminpanicmode. But yay for baths and orgasms!!

Yesterday I took a mental health day. In our apartment over the past week we have noticed an increase of smell near the front door/laundry. Finally two days ago it became more evident it was pet urine smell, which confused me since our cat's not a pisser and there is nothing there that could be pissed on. So, when I was laundrying yesterday, I realized there were two rugs stored and folded under the water heater/next to the dryer. Yeah, totally reeking of old pet urine. Who stores urinated on rugs? SO, I called the leasing agent and they immediately came and took them and are shampooing the other rug on our floor which I assume probably also has urine and they are setting up some industrial smell eliminator thing in the apartment tomorrow. I am just kind of grossed out that we have been in a house of cat pee for over a week. And pissed, given how much we paid to lease the place. We even have a 200 dollar non refundable pet deposit and so I wonder why they took the previous pet owners money but did nothing with it to clean that pet's nastiness. Ew

  • ow ew, that would piss me right off. (wokka wokka wokka!). good work using your pregnancy super power to sniff it out though

when i got to work there was a chocolate cream pie in the coffee nook. i do not possess the willpower to ignore it, so that was my breakfast. i will probably regret it later.

i'm really enjoying my solid gold fingernails. I keep looking at them and thinking "I love goooooold!"

  • I have a massive hangover.  I want to go home and go back to bed.
  • hmmm, hangover while the husband is out of town. I assume it has been rough?
  • Grooooossssss.

I want to smash my Mighty Mouse with a hammer. I hate this thing. I'm considering buying my own replacement and bringing it in.

I'm pretty sure this is just really bad sinus pressure and referred pain, but a tiny part of me is like "Radiating jaw/shoulder/arm pain ... am I having a heart attack??" But I do not think I am. I'll let you guys know tomorrow if I do.

I just wanted to eat donuts for breakfast but I was good and got my usually veggie egg white flatbread.

And then rewarded myself with a jelly donut.

My friend Kate came over last night -- she had an earache and I'm still suffering with my back, so we medicated ourselves with a couple of bottles of wine. I was glad to have the company and Ian was happy to have someone else to pay attention to him.  I am at my desk sipping an Alka-Seltzer.

  • I thought the hip pain I had been having was finally gone until I woke up at 2 am in so much pain I could hardly walk.  I ended up taking a leftover painkiller from my surgery even though they make me dizzy just to make it stop.

After reading this, I really want a donut.

  • So according to my new scale I'm down 11 lbs since starting WeWa. Yeah, yeah, scale differences, WHATEVER. I'm choosing to believe this is true.

  • Congrats bethie!

That sounds like a fun night Kay.

  • Here's another one:  I gave a client a ride to a hearing yesterday.  She saw the car seat in the back seat and said, "Oh, do you have grandchildren?"  I guess I've been looking rough lately.

That's insane. I cannot imagine someone thinking you were a grandma.

  • I can't stop reading the comments on opinion articles in the Washington Post. It's the most fun when the Ron Paul supporters get riled up.

  • I just read through 12-24's post on Chris Brown and my head hurts more. I couldn't care less if he hosted the Grammys. It's an awards show. But some of these women, trying to turn stuff around back on Rihanna ... wow.

Some highlights about the beating he gave Rihanna, complied by LHC:

"Maybe she hit him first, you don't know."

"If she's forgiven him, I should be able to, too."

"Perhaps she wasn't all that well-behaved herself."

"I think Rihanna is a psychotic assbag and that there may be more to the story."

It totally counts!  Good job on the weight loss!

While I think these statements are completely asinine, I am not shocked from the 12-24 crowd.

At the same time, I feel awkward about the canonization of MJ after all the child molestation stuff. No one ever made as big a stink over him because he was the king of pop.

  • Strangely, I was just informed that the IT department now has a donut maker in their office.

Someone on my local a few months ago said something to the affect of "well, she sings about S&M, maybe she likes it rough and that's why he hit her."

My head exploded. I expressed my outrage, but no one came back to the post to duke it out with me.

    ouch.  that's cold.

My friend was showing us around the school where she teaches the other day, and one of her students ran up and asked if we were her parents.  She's three years older than I am.  Not cool.

I don't understand blaming Rhianna for what happened at all, but I will be sad if the rumors about them being back together are true.

I'm watching the business of being born.  This is a bad idea, isn't it?

Something similar comes up in that thread, but it's more along the lines of "If Rihanna is such a victim, we should be disgusted by the music she's made since, since it glorifies violence toward women and she's obviously just trying to cash in"

Really, the whole thing left me speechless. And every time someone tried to argue, it became "Women deserve equal treatment AND equal blame!" and "It was three years ago, who cares if he performs at the grammys?" and "John Lennon hit Yoko Ono once, you hypocrites!"

I watched that and really liked it. it was after I birthed my child though, so I am not sure if that matters.

  • JOHN HIT YOKO!?  Oh noko.  Every time Winged mentions the cerclage thing, I have to google.  Why do I keep forgetting?
    image
  • People who can't see the difference between Rihanna singing about enjoying rough sex and being beaten up by her boyfriend have probably never experienced either.
  • Well, this is pretty random.

A local acquaintance (not from the nest) I follow on Pinterest got engaged a few days ago. Her pins since have been all wedding, all the time. Including one of Verona's wedding hair.

I'm about to go check the knot to see if she's on there. I wouldn't doubt it.

  • Congrats Bethie!  Gotta love a new scale.  I keep weighing myself everyday.  I can't decide if this is a bad idea or not.  I don't know if it's bloat, but I seem to be consistently up about 2 pounds.  I suspect bloat because it keeps changing.  I don't feel like I should be up at all at 6 weeks.  And I have a question for you all, if we see a heartbeat at my first appointment, is 8 weeks too early to tell our families?  I feel like once they see the heartbeat with an internal I should be pretty safe to tell.  No?

I think there's a big difference considering MJ was tried and acquitted (and was never indicted the first time).

Chris Brown has been tried and convicted, and is still on probation.

Bethie, you are awesome!  That's really great.
