I have a petty vent. 3 co-workers and I went in on bagels for my boss' birthday. I was looking forward to these bagel all morning. When I get here, I see that she got salsa cream cheese and cucumber cream cheese. WTF? Not even a plain. Or a cinnamon sugar. Or something halfway normal.
Hehe.
Bummmmmmmer. I got salsa, but it's just not very good.
Re: Wednesday randoms
Mmmm cucumber sounds good. Very strange that they didn't get one thing of plain. Sorry your bagel sucks :-(
We lost power on and off last night, and it didn't come back on for good til 6:45 am. I started my shower in the dark. I was afraid it would go out again so I didn't wash my hair (so I didn't have to blow dry). I decided to just wear a hat today.
Morning,
I would be disappointed in those bagel choices as well. I could see if it was lunch time. But those flavors just don't say "breakfast" to me.
How are the roads out there? They're fine here. They should have just called this an early spring storm or something. There was ice on my car but after warming it up, it melted off, no problem.
I decided to get the chocolate covered strawberries delivered to B next week for his birthday so I'm going to set that up in a minute.
Roads were just fine for me!
Bummer on the cream cheese - I'm intrigued by cucumber.
And losing power is never fun. Our stayed on last night - hopefully nothing turns icy or I bet that would cause some trouble.
Roads were fine for me this morning, just rain, no ice.
Score. Someone brought in doughnuts.
Also, I'm such a cow. Haha.
Roads are wet by me. I think the more north you are the worse it got.
Boo to Co-worker breaking the rules of Bagel buying. Always Always get 1 plain cream cheese.
Happy Leap Day!!
My new crock pot works very well. I'm happy that I brought it home yesterday.
I have a few errands left to run yet. Home Depot is very quiet in the AM. I stopped to pick up a furnace filter and wandered a bit and discovered magnetic paint. Hmmmm, now I knew about the chalkboard paint and dry erase paint but now magnetic paint. I'm thinking that it would be great to use the dry erase and magnetic paints on a bedroom door to leave messages/ notes for kids.
Yay for Leap Day! It is my niece's 2nd/8th birthday today!
D&MJ - Glad you get to have a donut, but I would have been all over that cucumber cream cheese.
The wind and rain woke me up at 4:30 this morning. I just couldn't get back to sleep, so at 5:30 I got out of bed. I know I will be super tired this afternoon, but it was nice to be up so early and get some things done. Black bean soup for dinner is already in the crock pot.
Henry and I are heading out for my strength training class. Hopefully this gives me the energy I will need to get through the day.
High five! Don't you love free food at work? There's a lunch meeting today with free pizza. Yes I'm going just for that. I vow not to pig out, as my jeans are feeling quite snug today. After this weekend (B's birthday celebration) I really have to lay off the good stuff for a while.
And you're not a cow. I bet you're just too cute!
I love DH. He's home from work for 2 weeks (vacation time to use or lose) and after a week and a half of loafing I came home yesterday and the main part of the house was spotless, AND he put together my herb cabinet, AND fixed the kitchen island cart that was in the basement and I've wanted moved upstairs FOREVER.
Plus there's no ice.
And it's Leap Day - my maiden name was Leep so I've always loved "Leep" day :-)
Happy Leap Day beautiful ladies! My friend's b-day is today...she is 9/36.:) Last leap year she was on the Martha Stewart show. Today she just gets to teach high schoolers.:)
Bummer to crappy bagel choices. I like plain cream cheese as well. Yay for donuts! You are not a cow girl, you are pregnant...eat up while you can!
I think it is awesome you get to wear a hat to work WOP.
Free pizza at work...even better.
Hoek...you go to a strength training class at 19 weeks pregnant??? You are making me feel like a sloth.
Wendy...that is awesome about your DH....if he get's bored, send him my way. I have some painting that could be done.:P and fun about your maiden name.:)
Woo hoo for a clean and fixed up house Wendy!
B&G - What did you end up doing for the husband for his birthday?
I bought some new jeans over the weekend. They fit great in the store. Yesterday I wore them and about a half hour into it they stretched and were practically falling down. Not so great when you are chasing a toddler. I kept having to pull my pants up every 5 min. GRRRRRRR....I hate that.
Speaking of the toddler...NOAH IS WALKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can I get an AMEN!!!!!!!!????????????? He is not totally steady yet...but will walk around the house and such. So fun to watch the drunken sailor/zombie.
I just ordered chocolate covered strawberries and bananas to be delivered to his job next week on his birthday. This weekend will be family dinner and I'll be baking a strawberry cake (my first ever!) and as his gift "I" am paying for his video game service that allows him to play with his buddies online. "I" because it's coming out of the joint account
This is one of my biggest complaints about jeans! They fit great for an hour, then they get stretched out and I need a belt.
AMEN to N walking! Hooray!
Choc. covered strawberries delivered to work is so nice B&G. Good choice.
We have a misplaced kids library book in the house. I've renewed it, and am tearing apart the house, but I am feeling crazy-anxious about finding it.
Cant you take them back and exchange them?
That sounds awesome - good luck on the cake!
Aren't they just meal replacement shakes? My daycare lady says she lost 20 lbs drinking them.
Doubt it...I have already washed and worn them....
Yup
Bummer
Stretchy fabric in jeans is nice for feel and snug fit. But it seems to backfire in the sagging department. Sorry that happened, Stargirl. I'd call the store and see if you can swap (even though they've been washed and worn). They obviously aren't right for you, and it might be worth a phone call.
Strength training class was canceled due to sickness. Bummer.
Stargirl - Woohoo for walking!!
GRsp - I may have seen your missing book at Schulers. Or was it amazon.com? Hmmmm.
B&G - Keep me posted about how the strawberry cake turns out. I think I would like the recipe!
