Mad Men Season Opener Discussion (spoilers welcome!)
Re: Mad Men Season Opener Discussion (spoilers welcome!)
I was wondering, though, as much as Megan doesn't get Don, she is already privy to so much information about him. Does that mean that Don feels differently about her than he did with Betty? I wonder if she will be good at getting him to loosen up over time? Not that I like them together, I'm just wondering what the purpose of this relationship is character development-wise.

I think that considering her husband was gone the whole time Joan's been pregnant he could put and two together...although sometimes I wonder about his intelligence. Haha.

Yeah, did we see any of the circumstances of Joan's birth, or was she just pregnant last time we saw her? I think Roger does know it's his, but is she going to try to pass him off as a preemie to her physician husband, or do you think she's going to lie about when she gave birth? Given how scary Dr.Rapist was in that one scene, I'm worried about her. :-(
Hands down, my favorite part was Roger singing and dancing to Frere Jacques to mock Megan.
Hilarious!
I agree!
To make you feel my love.
As I remember it, we saw Joan on a bus at the end of last season. My thought was that she was off to visit her husband, have sex with him and then claim the kid came a bit early.
Don/Megan sex scene was hot...Megan was awkward, Don was not.
Favorite line in the entire episode came from Peggy's boyfriend..."I just want to take off my pants and rub my a$s across the carpet." Lol! So random.
Lane was VERY creepy in this episode, except for his one funny line ab Don's soul leaving his body.
I missed Betty, the cold witch. I even told DH after the show was over that I'm ready to see some Don/Betty interaction.
I loved how everyone was worrying over being invited to the party at the last minute as well as the newspaper ad.
Joan's mother was getting on my nerves. Letting the PLUMBER in his dirty work clothes hold the baby???!!!
It was a good episode but it didn't feel as cohesive as the first season...hoping the writers/directors bring back some of that magic.
I watched it last night and actually really enjoyed the episode. There were a lot of great one-liners, mostly Roger's. I like seeing the development of Pete's family into the suburbs and his wife changing from the Park Avenue princess to the mother role. I also think everyone in the office is understanding better how he ticks and he doesn't seem as grating anymore.
Poor Peggy, I felt so bad when the baby got handed to her. She looked so uncomfortable.
Roger to his wife: "Why don't you dance like that?" Wife: "Why don't you look like him?"
I like seeing Joan as a mother struggling to get used to caring for a baby and also wanting to get back into working. I am interested in seeing how things play out when her husband returns, if he doesn't get killed somehow in the war.
I really like Megan. Yes, Betty understood Don, but they didn't work. I think Megan better fits Don's lifestyle. She's fun, sexy, and says what's on her mind. I liked how she tried to put him in his place a bit. She knows how to keep him wanting.

I agree. I literally LOL'd and spit my drink out.
