This is suspicious, right?
Re: This is suspicious, right?
I agree with Stan. If your gut went straight to "Omg he's cheating"... I would investigate it further.
I asked H for a male POV. He thinks that b/c military men can be so paranoid (I think he's overgeneralizing to make his paranoia seem normal
that there's no way someone would be so stupid as to not clean their pockets. He did want to know if it was a regular pocket, though, or a rarely used pocket. To prove his point he reached into a cargo pocket and found a kit kat wrapper that apparently I've washed a couple times.
We did think of a scenario of starbucks --> bad breath ---> gum. Condoms are bummed off a friend or in a communal bowl (college style), so that explains the different size. But, a condom in the pocket represents wishful thinking not actual cheating. Not that that's innocent, but it's at least a little better.
Or an indication of what happened at ports prior. Depends on the husband.
I asked my husband for his POV and he said he thinks the 'friend' story is BS and that if he let someone borrow his pants he would definately check the pockets and wash them, especially if he suspected friend was going out with the intention of hooking up or had that type of reputation. We are religious pocket checkers though after he ruined three brand new uniforms a few years back by not checking pockets and having a pen explode. As for already washing it- receipt paper doesn't hold up in the washer/dryer- if it doesn't disolve partially in the washer, most receipts use the paper that heat turns black in the dryer.
I guess since everyone is different, we can't really say what we would think, but as PPs have said, if your mind goes straight to cheating, there is probably a trust issue there and I would sit down and have a serious talk about trust and your suspisions. I always believe honesty is the best policy and if you're having these thoughts, you should talk to him about it or it will drive you crazy.
OMG I hated it when I did that. I was notorious for leaving pens in those stupid pocket holes. It ruined some of my civilian clothes too. Fuuking pens. That is all.
Chapstick is even worse. I've ruined so many clothes by accidentally putting chapstick through the washer/dryer. Gives everything nasty grease looking stains that are impossible to get out!
