Re: What are you training for or what is your current goal Poll

  • I want to be a buff, bad-azz mofo. On-going.
  • I am on a long weight loss journey (it has been a 36 year journey of ups and downs).  I have been on a down trend since my second daughter was born and have lost 70lbs, but finally commited to really doing it on January 1, I still have a long way to go.  So my main goal is weight loss but I am trying to get better with Yoga and training for a 1/2 marathon.

My 1/2 in in early June.  My next "event" is a 10K on April 15th

  • Setting a new marathon PR is my 2012 goal. Just hope not to gain during training since I'll have the runger in full effect.

  • My first half in May

No weight loss goal.  Just want to stay healthy!

  • I started really getting into running last September when I realized due to logistics we weren't going to be able to TTC until the end of this year. That's when I said "hey I've always dreamed of running a marathon, I should probably do this before having #2 when I'll even less time to run."

So I picked the Marine Corps Marathon as my end goal. I'm signed up for it. I completed my first half marathon a few weeks ago. I won't stop running once I complete the MCM, but that is my goal for the time being.

  • I'm getting back in to running after Physcial Therapy for Runner's Knee.  So, my goal is to be able to participate in an annual 5 mile run in August.  I don't forsee this as being a problem.

I'm also just working to maintain my weight and clean up my diet.  Vegan conversion in full swing.

  • I really hope to lose the baby weigth (after delivery of course) as quickly as possible.  I won't stress over it and I will make sure I do it the healthy way.  I also can not wait to start rebuilidng my fitness level I had prior to getting pregnant.  I miss running hard, running fast, doing intense speed work & hill work, etc...  I miss my 40-50+ mile weeks too.

I am like you, in that my journey has been long and full of ups and downs.  In 2010 I lost 40 lbs, but last year I put back on 15 of those lbs, which I am working to get rid of again.

I have given myself a goal of hitting 121 lbs by the end of April, because come May, MH and I have the green light to TTC again and I want my body to be in as good of shape as possible by then.  Additionally, I added a weight loss bet with a friend to help "sweeten the pot" so to speak as well.

No races scheduled but I want to do a Warrior Dash or a 10k or something, the only thing is that I might (hopefully) be pregnant again by the time it comes around, so that would change things a bit.

  • Since its summer..err spring ... i'm not training for anything.

My only goal this summer is to increase my weekly mileage before marathon training starts in August.

No real weight loss goal, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if I lost a few lbs.

  • I have a couple goals:

    - Training for my first 1/2 marathon on May 6th

    - Doing a Color Me Rad 5k at the end of May

    - 10lbs away from the WW goal weight that I want to be at. I am 6 away from the high end of the range according to WW, but I'd like to lose just a few more than that.

  • I am working towards getting to my pre-pregnancy weight and speed levels. I think the first needs to happen to achieve the second, but my breast feeding supply tanks when I lose weight too quickly.

  • Well, one of my goals for this year was to set a new half marathon PR, which I did two weeks ago (woot woot)!

I'm currently training for several races, I have an 8 mile trail run in a couple of weeks, then the week after that is a half marathon, then the week after that is a 5k and another half marathon.  I'm not expecting to PR in those halves, but if I could, that would be great, obviously!

Another goal is to get a sub 2 hour half, but I don't think I'm quite there yet.

Plus I would like to earn my green belt in Tae Kwon Do before summer.

Other than that, my main goal is to just work out consistently and maintain my weight.

  • I'm currently training for my Army pt test this coming May :]  I'm also working out with my husband to encourage him while he trains for both his own pt test and for a marathon he's running in in September :]

  • I am training currently for the Covered Bridge Half in June.  My goal is to shave 10 minutes off my last half.

I also want to lose 23 more pounds...

  • Goals:

*Lose ~20 more lbs.  Or get to the size I want to be, regardless of weight.

*Increase upper body strength and lose the arm flab.  Lose the muffin top.

*Ride stronger this season.  Enjoy the rides more and feel better doing it.

    * Registered for two 100-mile rides this summer.  Hoping to cut a significant amount of time from my first Century last summer.

  • I'm training for a marathon in mid April. A PR would be nice, but honestly I don't think I'm in PR shape.

No weight loss goal, but I am looking forward to mixing up my workout routine a bit once this marathon is over, and get rid of the bit of extra fat I feel like I've put on while focusing solely on distance running over the last several months.

  • I'm training for a 15K (this Saturday) + a couple of half marathons (May, maybe one in June).

     AND :-)

I'd like to lose 5-10 lbs. Definitely 5, but I'm not sure if I'll need another five after that. I'm losing very slowly (lost 5 lbs since January), but I feel like I'm doing it in a very maintain-able way - I'm having the occasional treat, the majority of my diet is healthy & nutritious, & I'm working out.

  • I'm doing a 5K on May 5th. I am hoping I can run it in 30 minutes or less
  • I'm training for my first 10K on April 15. :)

  • I'm currently 'training' (I use the term loosely) for a couple of ten milers.  one sunday and one in like 3 weeks.

after that, nothing longer than a 10K until fall for me. I'm going to try to drop some weight  and tone up this summer (let's say 10 lbs) so I'll be taking a break from training for halfs for a while.

  • Training - the Green Bay Marathon is my main target right now. My target goal is 3:35 assuming I'm able to cope with the training increase this time around

Weight Loss - I'd like to lose 10 lbs before my Hawaii trip in June but fueling for marathon training is #1 right now so I'm just cutting back on the junk for now.

  • I have marathon #2 on the schedule for May 6th.  I just want to get through it without crying LOL!

No really...I would love to break the 5 hour mark -- I would be super happy with that :)

  • I'm smack dab in the middle of week 5 of C25K, using this to train for a 5k mud/obstacle run in June.  Depending on how training goes (wasn't sure if I would need to repeat weeks, as I was pretty out of shape), I might run a 5K in early May as well.

Now that I'm in a groove with running, I need to add some strength training into the mix.

Weight loss is always a goal.  I have about 40 pounds to lose, and I know running would be a ton easier if I had less weight to slow me down.

  • Lose 10 lbs, drop a pant size. Run a 5k and possibly another half marathon
  • Training for my 6th half marathon in June...really want 1:55 or lower this time...need to shave 3 minutes.  Planning to buy a hydration belt so I dont waste time at water stations.

3rd full marathon in October...need to shave 13 minutes to get sub-4:00......crossing my fingers!!

  • Training goals:

10 miler on Sunday ~ I am hoping to improve my time by a minute or so

1/2 marathon end of April ~ Under 2:10

    Spring 5Ks - Under 25:30

Weight loss goal - lose 10 more lbs, already down 5... I think it will help with my spring racing

  • My first big event is the first Sat. in June. I haven't been training for anything since the end of cyclocross season in Jan. Right now I'm focused on getting over this sinus infection and sinus surgery. I hope to start racing mountain bikes again in a few weeks. I plan to "race myself into shape." It's not pretty or fun, but I've done it before.
