I'm just going to come out with it:
I wonder how many people second-guess abortions after the fact, while simultaneously claiming it was the right decision for them.
And how could anyone possibly determine what the "right" decision is without knowing the outcome of both decisions?
How many women choose this option because they can't stand to take responsibility for their decisions? Probably the same number who think it's perfectly acceptable to walk away from a home loan just because the house they bought is no longer worth what they paid for it.
Oh, and the value of life isn't determined by number of cells, it's determined by its potential to touch lives and make its mark on humanity. Flushing that impacts every relationship that fetus would otherwise have: everyone whom it would love or would love it, from children to grandchildren to great-grandchildren. It would erase the possibility of any joy that would otherwise come from that child. It's sad to think that the sum total of all that childs potential experiences isn't worth at least 9 months of a woman's life.
True, a ball of cells can't survive on its own outside the womb, but neither can a full-term newborn. If a women can't handle the responsibility of either, then by all means, find someone who can -- the world is full of people who would love to adopt. Then again, the world is full of people of who would walk away from all kinds of responsibilities because it's easier and it suits them. And yes, I say "easier" because it seems some of you have either lost, or never had any concept of what sacrifice really is.
This isn't a pro-life rant -- I firmly believe it's a woman's choice -- but I'm extremely sensitive to selfish, self-serving people who think the world begins and ends with them and their choices. Grow up.
Re: Flame me
White, healthy babies.
You forgot to add that part at the end.
we all fall down sometimes
brass and ballet flats
So, you're pro-choice, but you'd like to judge the sh!t out of those who make that choice.
Hmmm.
We're kind of going out.

I think this way about people who buy motorcycles.
I bet her FUPA's name is Shane, like the gunslinger/drifter of literature.--HappyTummy
Interesting. Because I'm extremely sensitive to selfish, self-serving people who think the world begins and ends with them and their opinions.
Saying "just put it up for adoption" is just as ignorantly simplistic as people who tell the infertile "you should just adopt!" It's not that easy.

Wow.
You didn't just get up on your soapbox, you jumped up and down on it, waving your hands madly!
And IMO you are a bit off the mark when you say that was not a pro-life rant. Of course it was. You said it, so own it.
Yes.
Well, aren't you special.
Eh... semantics. I think people who smoke cigarettes knowing they cause cancer are idiots too, but that doesn't mean I think they should be illegal.
Nobody has anything substantial to contribute? Just mindless nitpicking over whether or not this was or was not a pro-life rant?
Tell me why I'm wrong. Tell me I'm missing something. Give me some indication that you've given this subject any thought whatsoever. I'm seriously looking for someone with an intelligent point to make on the subject.
You want us to create intelligent responses to a belligerent ignorant uneducated rant about the selfishness of women who abort?
Have you had a baby?
this!
Ahem. I did exactly that. I pointed out exactly where your logic is faulty.
your mom
No. You have clearly thought this through too well and stumped all of us dummies. Women are selfish cuunts who sleep around with no thought to the consequences and then take the easy way out by having an invasive procedure to kill the results of their bad behavior. Society then loses out on all the Nobel Peace Prize winners that otherwise would have been born and given to all the open homes of people eager to adopt any baby that needs a home.
You win. You figured it all out.
Agreed. There is also no evaluation of how the woman's life touches other people's lives in a positive way by not having a child she cannot physically/emotionally/financially support for whatever reason. Perhaps the woman's future children will be positively impacted by the woman not having the earlier potential child. But, of course, that means that we would have to say the woman's life also had value and not just OMG FUTURE TIM TEBOW FETUS!!
It's true. She's got us. All this time I have been claiming that my abortion was one of the best decisions I've made (although not getting pregnant in the first place would have been better), but I stand corrected! My spawn could potentially have made the world a better place because like Michelle Duggar says, children bring joy and the world needs more joy!

I received a B.A. from Brown and an MBA from Cornell. I have 4 children, 2 of whom were adopted.
My post was belligerent I agree but certainly not ignorant and uneducated.
Many couples would like to adopt. And when they don't make enough money to buy a baby (which is essentially what happens) They get to live their lives childless. The orphanages fill up with children from unfit homes because just anyone CAN have children and those that should have had abortions have kids that they don't want. So they mistreat or ignore them. By the time they get to a home they're angry. And unless they're lucky, no family comes to save them.
Get the hell off your soapbox. They're selfish people for not possibly sending a child to a life without a family?
OMG please stop talking.

Oh, yay! I love when we get to play my degree beats your degree. I may win since at least I can keep straight where my degrees are from. Did you not think U. of M. was impressive enough?
I love when people think that because they went to college it means they automatically have informed, intelligent opinions about things. It doesn't. You can be educated and still have ignorant, uneducated opinions. In fact, I would say this is usually the case.
We're kind of going out.
She can't even keep straight where her degrees came from, so....
