family time vs. us time
My issue is with my sister...We've always
been close and she is single at
a point in her life where she's trying to fill her
life up because she's so dissatisfied with career, dating, etc.
She often "hints at" or flat out asks me if
she can go places/do thing with my husband and I or if we can invite
her places. On 2 specific occasions she has asked to come with us
places and I've obliged but my husband has been annoyed. I try to
include her
from time to time as I think it's good for her to get out and spend
time with nice people but there are moments when my husband and I just
want to spend time with our own friends without family along (as he
puts it). My husband and I especially enjoy hanging out with other
couples, as we find it encouraging and validating to talk openly with
people who understand where we are. I've noticed that my sister seems
perfectly comfortable going places and doing things with her own
friends (not inviting me along) but I feel guilty if I do the same. I
never point this fact out to her, but I wonder if I should especially
if she asks again to 'tag along.' I'm not sure what to do. Thanks so
