8 Things You Should Never Say To a Mom (Yahoo)
Re: 8 Things You Should Never Say To a Mom (Yahoo)
Heh. I asked H if he wanted our potential 2nd child to be a boy or a girl. He said he'd rather have another girl without even thinking about it.
Might be b/c he thinks all of his girl children will be ginger, though.
As to #1, we do that at work. If someone is dressed nicer than normal we ask if they have an interview or if we're being audited. Most people respond that they need to do laundry.
On the boy thing, I got very mama bear protective when we started telling people we were having another boy. I hated that the first reaction wasn't to just celebrate him instead be disapointed because he had a penis. So dumb. I was also instantly told by two good friends, who have girls, that it was okay because I could always try for a third like this was a baby I should be disapointed in. I hadn't even ever expressed a desire to have a girl. I don't know it made me very defensive of him I guess.
So I learned quickly to respond to the question of what we are having to saying "It is a boy" real upbeat with smiling and looking the person in the eye daring them to say anything but congrats. It works lol.
