Anywhere you have NO interest in travelling to?

I understood the question.  I guess my point is, I can't rule out a place or say it doesn't interest me if I don't have a valid reason for doing so.

So, what is a valid reason?

Here's the thing... short of a free trip, would most of us really spend money on going to a destination we're just 'meh' about? I spent a lot of time abroad while growing up, so I'm not saying this as the American without a passport who never goes anywhere. Sure, some people are completely ridiculous about it, but in general, I don't think there's anything wrong with this type of question. It's interesting to see the opinions of others in comparison to my own. :shrugs:

  • I think the hate on Hawaii is overrated. I loved it. We went to Kauai and it was very unique and didn't feel like a played out American based vacation. The hiking could not be beat.

That said I have no interest going to islands that are geared towards AI. NONE! We love to explore when we go places. So Jamaica, Cancun, etc...are out.

Also, we are not big cruise type people. No interest at all.

And no really cold trips like Antarctica.

Anywhere Disney unless I had a kid.  A cruise.  Any all inclusive resort/hotel.  Any place listed as a travel advisory warning or do-not-visit on the SD's website.
  • I freaking love Hawaii, so there!Stick out tongue

Seriously though, there's so much culture and history there, it's not just touristy shopping at Waikiki.

Anyway, I am also in the camp of I probably wouldn't turn down a free trip anywhere, but I would not pay for a trip to Vegas, India or France.  I'm sure that there are awesome things to do and see in each of them, but if I'm paying for the trip, there's just a bazillion other places I'd rather see before them.

I guess I just get turned off by the ones who are completely ridiculous.  Writing off whole continents boggles my mind.  The "Hawaii is a fake paradise" response is laughable.  My husband and I got a real kick out of that one as we sat on our lanai last night ooverlooking a rainbow as the sun set on Maui.  If you have no interest in going somewhere fine, but of its because of a moronic reason (in my mind at least), I'll judge you for it.

  • Whoa. Snarkiness in this threat. Calm down, all. OP asked for your opinions, can't we give them without being snarked at?

Lol, it's a message board.  If you say something ridiculous, you will get snark in return.
