Who do you want to see run for president in 2016?
I'd like to see Marco Rubio and Dr. Benjamin Carson run
Re: 2016
I'll be really surprised if Hillary runs after the Benghazi ordeal.
I agree.
lolololol
The only people who would be upset about Hillary running after the Benghazi non-scandal are the rabid Fox News watchers who wouldn't vote for Hillary if she was personally endorsed by Jesus Christ.
Lol. Dr. Carson. What do you know about him besides his speech at the prayer breakfast? I hope the republicans realize that a minority running does not secure the party the vote of minorities. I think this point is lost on them right now. I thought they would learn that a little after Michael Steele.
The difference is that Hillary and Obama (and everyone else, for that matter) did everything they could to cover up Benghazi. That looks real good. For the PP who called Benghazi "non scandalous", had the administration put everything in the open, it probably wouldn't have looked scandalous. That's not how they handled it, and this is the result the administration got, including Hillary. But can you really blame them? They were attempting to cover up an obscene amount of negligence that cost us American lives.
Hillary got a lot of bad publicity in her final hours as secretary of state. She should be ashamed of the way that she went out. Did anybody really watch the testimony on that? Did she directly answer one question that was thrown at her? I guess that depends on how you define a direct answer. All I saw was her dodging bullets. Hillary 2016 **Insert eye roll here**
I think it's crazy that he gives one speech that people like and they want him to be POTUS. I think republicans think if they put up a minority, minorities will vote for them. They keep talking about minority outreach, etc. Minorities dont need outreach, they would like policies that benefit them and not to be pander too. They would like for candidates not to suggest that we make conditions sp hard for them that they self deport. They would like for a party not to sterotype them as "wefare queens." But I think Republicans should continue to do it their way because it has been so successful for them. Had they not gerrymandered the political districts, they would not even have control of the house.
I asked what she knew about him besides the prayer breakfast speech. I have seen him in person at least 6 times and have been in retreat/strategic planning sessions with him two times. Dinner with him, etc. I don't know enough about his political views to say he should run in 2016 and I know a lot about him! I highly doubt he will run anyway but to hear one speech and say he should run is crazy to me. There are many white doctors with his views. Why should he run and not them?
Obama got like 96% of the black vote. What would you think?
Exactly! My response had nothing to do with his skin color. No. I don't know much about him but he really impressed me. I have also seen him on tv a few times. Not only is he intelligent but I respected how he stood up to Obama. I also, truly love Rubio and Condie.
Oh and we knew so much about Mr. Community Organizer. Get real LOL
I should also add that I DO think the GOP needs to get rid of those crazies like Aiken that just give them a bad name.
Definitely!!!
I think it's pretty obvious that the majority of the American voting public has become more progressive rather than regressive. It's going to be very hard for the Republicans to find a candidate who is progressive on social issues, while still appealing to the fundie base. They just aren't going to have the numbers. I think the Democratic primary will determine our next president.
I don't think Hilary will run, so I am holding out hope for Elizabeth Warren!
You are ignoring the fact that the Democrats always get 96% (approx) of the black vote. You want to pretend it's just because Obama is black, but statistics show that is not the case at all. That percentage is not going to shrink in any significant way no matter who the next Dem candidate is.
I don't think it will happen by then either. Are the racist secessionists and anti-woman's rights fundamentalists going to vote for a Rubio, Jindal, or ::gasp:: female candidate? Yeah, no. And if the Republican establishment doesn't embrace minority candidates and the changes to America that they represent, than they will lose the more open-minded conservative voters. It's a hopeless situation for the party.
Do you live in NJ? Just curious.
Because I do and my life is no better than before Christie. I would like to know what he has accomplished thus far.
He is a bully, and a my way or no way guy. Not what I want in a president.
I once in a while like his frankness, for instance "Get the hell off the beach". But only once in a great while.
At first I thought it was refreshing that he was such a straight shooter. But too much of the time he is just a big bully.
Like I said, I still do enjoy his antics sometimes. I just don't know if he is POTUS material, yet.
eta: I think Obama is getting better in the assertiveness department.

This is a great article and the comments are very good too. It's long but definitely worth a read. These were my favorite parts:
But, I asked Plouffe, wasn?t the G.O.P. just one postmodern presidential candidate ? say, a Senator Marco Rubio ? away from getting back into the game?
Pouncing, he replied: ?Let me tell you something. The Hispanic voters in Nevada, Colorado and New Mexico don?t give a damn about Marco Rubio, the Tea Party Cuban-American from Florida. You know what? We won the Cuban vote! And it?s because younger Cubans are behaving differently than their parents. It?s probably my favorite stat of the whole campaign. So this notion that Marco Rubio is going to heal their problems ? it?s not even sophomoric; it?s juvenile! And by the way: the bigger problem they?ve got with Latinos isn?t immigration. It?s their economic policies and health care. The group that supported the president?s health care bill the most? Latinos.?
Today?s typical voter, he went on to say, could be that same white couple in Dayton. ?But here?s the difference,? he said. ?They worry about economic mobility ? can their kids get ahead or even keep up. Their next-door neighbors are Latino whose mom gets concerned when she hears talk about self-deportation or no driver?s licenses. And that couple has a gay niece and an African-American brother-in-law. And too many folks like the couple in Dayton today wonder if some of the G.O.P. understands their lives anymore.?

I think this link should work now
I happen to like Marco Rubio Rand Paul.
I like what Dr. Carson embodies, I like that he did not allow his modest upbringing to dictate the rest of his life. He worked hard and achieved great things, that is the spirit of America (IMO). I doubt he will run for President but if he does I would love to find out more about him.
