New June '09er here. During the planning process I mainly stuck to the DW board, but it seems like all the married DWers are now KU. While I love-them-like-woah, I prefer my water without a side of baby dust. Well actually, I prefer Diet Coke through an IV soooo... yeah. Here I am.
I'm Rose (Ro), a Boston 'burbs transplant living in NYC. Been with the mister (aka Alex) since the beginning of time. I've literally watched his hair turn grey, most of which can be blamed on me and my crazy antics. I finally locked him down on June 28th in Los Cabos, Mexico. We (read: I) planned a pretty kick a$$ four-day extravaganza and since then, well, life has returned to exactly the way it was before. Happy the planning is done, sad the wedding is over is the general consensus.
Likes: Sarcasm, sass and shoes. Dislikes: Speidi.
So, ask away. I feel like I'm rushing a sorority... though I've never been in a sorority, so please excuse the bad simile if I'm completely off-base.

Ditto Zee.
Welcome! It's so fun to have newbs on J9. Please dive in and join the discussions and start new topics. Often we struggle with a lack of posts, which makes me a sad and unentertained panda.
p.s. I've also turned DH's hair gray in the last six years. I consider it payback for the 30 lbs I gained in the first three dating years.

Aw, shucks. Thanks ladies.

Someday I'll actually get around to making a married bio with the rest of the hilarity that occurred on the other three days...
I survived the RoLex wedding and all I got was this lousy husband.

Hey! I haven't looked at your bio yet but I like that you refer to yourselves as Ro-lex. Very cute. Welcome!
I also had a destination wedding.

Ah, yes. The RoLex wedding was coined by one of my best friends in a margarita induced haze. Granted, it is pretty freaking funny that in nine plus years, we never thought of it.
Where did you get married?

Vermont. We live in California so that was quite the planning nightmare. Especially when our first venue was sold the week before Christmas and mailed our deposit check back to us...
<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="D
Yikes. That sounds like a nightmare. Where in VT? I grew up right next door in NH...

welcome aboard!!
...and holy GORGEOUS wedding pics!!! looks like you had an amazing day!!
Thanks! It was a rockin' time. That being said, it looks like June was a good month for kickazz weddings this year. For cereal. You ladies are impressive.

Hola! Bienvenidos! I'm assuming that you picked up a decent amount of Spanish during your Mexican extravanganza.
I've gotta say, I'm jealous of your wedding events shoe collection.
Welcome to our board. I have a feeling you'll fit in quite well here.
Hahaha. All Spanish was erased with my first shot of tequila. Most of my English was erased by the tenth. What happens in Mexico...
My shoe obsession is probably the best thing about me. I don't consider myself overly brilliant or hilarious or dashing, but my shoes will make most gals weak in the knees. We all have to be good at something.
In other news, you look exactly like one of my mister's ex gfs. Don't worry, she's also gorg. I promise to try to not hate you too much.

Yeah, I should totally get on planning that. Haha. I'm such a procrastinator. But seriously, all are welcome. The mister and I need constant stimulation (get your mind out of the gutter ladies) and we actually don't like travelling alone for long periods of time. So, yeah. Is it weird to invite people on your honeymoon...? If it is, whatevs.
And as long as you don't judge my copious consumption of diet coke and/or gin, I promise to love your fetus. Just don't send any baby dust my way - I'm allergic for the next 2-5 years.

Yes, vhcoleman, salas and all of our KU ladies are very cool about the whole thing.
We got married in Chester. My parents retired to South Woodstock, which is not a town so much as a post office (but I was born and raised in Chicago). We had wanted to get married at my parents' place, but couldn't for practical reasons, so we ended up at the Inn at Cranberry Farm. It was lovely. My pics are here: http://www.colin.weddingherald.com/
Come to think of it, I should put that link in my siggy since it looks like I will NEVER make that wedding bio...

Question: Is this "dust" you speak used exclusively for "good?" Cause I'm a big fan of schadenfreude, even if that means I'm destined to roast for all of eternity.

Absolutely! Shopping dust, job dust, getting family members out of your house dust, house buying dust...
Just don't accept any dust from Mamiekins...hers can be faulty at times.
Lucy Elizabeth 10.27.12
Oh, you will fit in here so well.

I think I've found a new internet home. Sigh.
I'll take some I-hope-my-MIL-gets-some-bad-karma-because-she-deserves-it dust. Please and thank you.

Choo, why have you not joined J9 earlier?
Lucy Elizabeth 10.27.12
True...however, your get sicky family member out of house dust wasn't too speedy!
Because I'm clearly LAME. Seriously. Is this where the fun has been hiding? Frig. I missed the memo. Shocking.

Yeah, but her poo dust was scary fast! Almost too fast.
Nuff said. Welcome.
