Re: Newb.
Thanks, kebbers. Now I want an M&M. My DH would see right through that. He definitely knows what M&Ms look like. :-/
choo, I'd like to bestow a big hearty J9 thanks for livening up the board and creating a 3-pager thread. It's been awhile since we've had one!

I am behind times as I have worked all day and went to class this evening, but many welcomes to the board.
I would just be repeating everyone else if I said how gorgeous your wedding was.

Hands down the best thread in quite some time.
I'm Sara Joy, Chicago girl through and through. Big city financial girl married to a struggling (but adorable) filmmaker. No baby nonsense here either.I mostly hang out on the money board because I like the fast moving pace, but definitely check in here.
Your pictures are gorgeous (so are you!), and I'm going back to drool over the shoes.
OH. MY. GOD.
I just looked at your galleries, and I am torn whether to gush over your paper products or your SHOES. Holy ***. Sorry, I cannot contain my mouth at this time. I am a stationery and paper freak, it was the thing I was most obsessed with in planning our wedding, and yours are phenomenal. International Travel is another passion close to my heart- and those passports!
And obviously, the shoes are to. die. for. I wanted louboutins so bad for the wedding day, but ended up going a much cheaper route as my husband was so done spending $$.
Jeez, all this ego stroking would have been awesome during the planning process- everyone around me thought all my ideas were completely nuts. Haha. I'll show them...
I'm a total paper freak too. Like, it is a borderline problem. Thankfully, my best friend from childhood owns a stationery company, so that helped with the costs associated with my insanity. But those passports were a total biatch. The equally crazy Mr. Choo wanted the cover to look and feel like a real passport, so that was fun to figure out. Four words: lizard paper, foil stamped. Guess how long it took me to figure that out.. yeah. And as if the passports were not enough, there were the wine bottle formal invites. I think I broke several laws to get those done. I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to ship wine across state or international lines... oops. So yeah, paper freak flag is flying high.
Don't even get me started on shoes unless you want to read a full treatise on why I choose Choo. And Loub. And Blahnik. See, you've got me going now...
What kind of films does your husband make? My bff is dating a producer and she has completely sucked me in to that world.

Right now my husband is working on a documentary following the story of a gay and lesbian church. It's a long story, and it has been a looong process, but he has gotten some incredible interviews from a range of experts and theologians from all ends of the spectrum. He is in talks with PBS, the BBC, etc., to try and get funding and distribution, but we're still in the "long shot" category I think.
For his next project he wants to do a piece on mysticism and such in Indonesia (where he grew up), but isn't sure whether it will be a documentary or not.
To pay the bills, he works on commericals, movies, TV shows, etc. which is also fun! (He appeared in a Snoop Dogg music video last year). It's a totally fun career path although very different from mine managing money and trading stocks.
That sounds really interesting! I'm a documentary wh0re, so if it gets funded, you'll have to let me know. My friend produces indie films, the most recent one opened at Tribeca before getting bought by a studio. It premieres in December in NYC and I'm pretty pumped that he invited our gang to the showing/after party. I'm going to accidentally-on-purpose cozy up to Kristen Bell. She is sassy, I am sassy, that means we'll be friends, right?

Yes, of course. I'm sure she will covet your shoes as well.
