Re: SA Wednesday
Lauren - your album is KILLER. I love that you thought out of the box with it. Traditional is all well and good, but having a real statement piece like that is SO much better, imo.
Leslie - John Mayer, open windows, & Starbucks is about my recipe for a perfect morning. And just think, if you didn't have a reason to be melancholy, you also couldn't have enjoyed the Starbucks!
Well, the investigation wasn't complete... someone got wind of it and went to the police so this whole thing is still on-going and in the media now. From what I've gathered, it was former students and not current students, and they weren't minors. I don't agree with it or think it's right for him to be talking with students but now there is a whole media storm behind it. I think that the professional/friend line was blurred and that is where the issue lies (and don't get me wrong... I absolutely think that's an issue), but I just have a hard time thinking that he would do anything SO WRONG like they're making it out to be. Ugh, just makes my stomach hurt.

Chelsea - Thanks!! We're super happy with it... DH was actually the one who saw Lynn's 20 x 8 shape and said we should go for the upgrade.
Leslie - Good thoughts and virtual hugs coming your way!
Bio Good Times
Bri, I am so sorry. I hate that stomach-ache feeling when you just know something is bad-wrong... I hope that things can get sorted out quickly, and that there won't be any lasting effects from this situation on his career. Hugs to you!
And hugs to you too, Leslie... I'm sorry you're feeling down today.
Thank you Ladies.
Brianna - I'm sorry to hear about your friend. It does sound awful - but the media is known to blow things out of proportion all the time.
Leslie - ::hugs::
Wow. I'm sorry to hear about the things that are making your lives hard. Thoughts, hugs, positive vibes headed to all of you that need them today.
BL- From past posts regarding your employees, it sounds like you are a loved and deserving boss. Wear your new gift with pride!
Lauren- Your album is lovely.
You know I feel you on this one! Just hold strong and let him know you are there for him! Hopefully it'll blow over soon.

Brianna I am so sorry. I know how shocking that must be for you. Hopefully the truth will come out.
Lacey, so sorry to hear about DH's grandmother.

Just do it!
Bri,
It's the one thing that always makes me nervous: what will someone come up with in regards to me?
I always have a nice day when I can drive with the windows down and the radio blaring.
Michelle,
I'm extremely frustrated with that and I could use a term that I've heard my students use but I'll keep it to myself. Ugh. Just let it go, people. Let it go.
Tiffany- I don't know anything off the top of my head but if I come across anything, I can let you know.
Lacey- I'm sorry to hear about DH's grandmother. I wish you two safe travels.
Brianna- I hope that you hear from him soon to ease your worry. The media, well...I don't have a lot of nice things to say about them, really. Innocent until proven guilty? Not with the media involved and I find it sad.
Leslie- ((HUGS)) We don't always react the way we think we will and by no means does it mean we can't handle it or that there is something wrong with us. We are human after all.
In all honesty, you should be glad the price is only double! Hotel prices during that weekend always made stuffing 6 girls in one room totally worth it!!!
BL: How sweet of her to give you that! I definitely see where you're coming from though.
Lacey: I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you and DH have a safe trip.
Brianna: That's terrible. I'm so sorry the media is involved and making things worse. I hope that your friend will be okay.
Chelsea: Congratulations!! What an excellent decision the two of you made two years ago!
I am exhausted today...and every other day. I just can't seem to get up in the mornings. I'm late to work EVERY day and I need to fix that!
I don't get it either. I think that since I went to UTA and totally missed out on college football I never understood how big a deal it is to so many people. H took me to an LSU game last year and I was blown away by how many grown adults drive from out of state to camp out in the parking lot during games. Weird.
The Ticket just posted on FB that they are looking for a Revenue Accountant. www.dfwradio.com

This does suck, sorry!
I do have to say though that I have the complete opposite reaction and also attended UTA. I enjoy the authenticity of the game. I feel like high school football has the same spirit but the play is less enjoyable because not every player is performing at the same high level. I feel like the NFL is entirely too commercialized and the ability for the players to hang on forever (looking at you here Favre) really cheapens the oppurtunity for new blood to make an impact.
With college football you are guaranteed a new QB at least every five years and you get to enjoy the spirt of youth as no player ever retires from college. I enjoy the deep seeded rivalry that arises with college football as well. Since anyone from anywhere can go to a school you get fans from all states and places instead of just the regional fans. I enjoy the taunting and the face paint. It's also on Saturday, which is far, far superior to Sunday as you can do the football thing and still have weekend left over for other pursuits. I don't find it weird at all and in fact really appreciate the outpouring of passion for something when so many people show passion for nothing.
This is the most well-worded, adult defense of college football fandom that I've ever read. And in particular, this : "(I) really appreciate the outpouring of passion for something when so many people show passion for nothing" absolutely struck me.
I'll never be a football fan... there's too much baseball in my blood. But I feel like I understand the idea a little more now. Thanks.
I'm admittedly not an avid wild and crazy tailgater, but I graduated from TCU 6 years ago and I still get that tingly excitement on game day. I still rejoice at wins and have literally cried in defeat on more than one occasion.
ETA: Thanks Michelle, I will go look.
Well said Leslie!
Bri - We watch SOA and saw the premiere last night
Bio Good Times
It was SOOOO GOOD!

Thanks ladies. College football is a big deal in my family.
The weather is so beautiful I have decided I am going to run outside rather than in the gym at UTA. I think I am going to try River Legacy Park in Arlington as everyone always says good things about it. I have never been though - anyone have any experience with the park? Is it as good as it looks online?
I am not a huge fan of college football, but I always like to watch SMU play. We are slowly getting better again! :-D
Chelsea- Congrats! That must be a great feeling!
Brianna- I hope you hear from him soon and that everything is ok!
I can't remember what everyone else has said, so I am not going to try to respond to everyone!
I am just so annoyed with traffic this week! I was late yet again this morning. It is so frustrating!
I need to get a dress for a wedding we are going to at the end of the month. I don't know what to get because I don't really know how formal/informal the wedding is going to be :-/

I'm so sad for everyone dealing with crap. All I can say is, it sucks and I'm sorry.
I don't really "get" sports in general, but I can see why it's exciting.
I had my appointment at the UNT career center yesterday. It wasn't the big revelation I was hoping for, but she definitely gave me some things to think about.
I have a lot of anxiety about the upcoming 9/11 anniversary. I want to watch all the specials on TV, but I always come out a wreck by the end.
I'm cooking eggplant for the first time tonight, I hope it's good!
LOL!!!
Chelsea,
This was the only bad thing I ran into with moving the wedding from April to October. Our hotel block for our out of town guests went from $89/night to $129/night! Some people are not happy about that but there's not much I could do since they fill up that weekend regardless.
