Re: Whatever Friday
I haven't been, but we are going with a group of 30 people in December. I think I might be the minority on this one. I would much prefer going in a big group to Vegas. Nothing says you have to hang out with the group the whole time or schedule things with them. I think it just depends on what you're wanting to get out of the trip. We still like to party, so we will enjoy the night life there.
I've only been to Vegas as a couple, and we had a blast.
About the church services... I think I'm an oddball here. I love the contemporary worship. The church I go to now really moves me every single time I go - it's like I can feel every word that we're singing, and I just love it. I don't feel like it's a rock concert, but it's definitely loud... but I feel like the spirit of worship is there, whereas some contemporary services, not so much. I grew up with contemporary worship though, so maybe that's why. However, I still love some old hymns because they remind me of my grandparents' little country church. But, those are more memories than feelings of worship, I think.
Are you coming to the G2G?? (YOU BETTER)... I will bring them there if you want to smell.

You're not the oddball I promise. I love our non-denom, christian church. It has a great mixture of contemporary and some good ol' hymns. I can also see everyone's elses perspectives too. I grew up in a baptist, catholic, methodist, foursquare and non-denom churches. Phew that's a lot, but I love that I have that background. Our current church is by far my favorite and it grabs at my heart-strings as did the foursquare church.
I will not be able to make it.
DH's grandmother passed away earlier this week and we are headed out of town first thing in the morning. So I will be packing, etc. this evening.

When we go, yes. I went to one of the churches in Denton with Bill and the mass was 2 hours AND some of the people were coming in to church with their bathing suit cover-ups on (like they had just come in off of Lake Lewisville)!. In Carson City, we were going to the main Catholic Church in town until they started going hippee--dancing barefoot down the aisle, etc. My dad said, "I was waiting for the snakes." We ended up going out to a small church on an Indian reservation until we moved. We stopped going to the church I was baptized in because, one Christmas, there was no organ, no singing, just a guy with long dark hair playing synthesizers. Yep, Yanni was at my church. We're pretty traditional so we keep going until we find one we're comfortable with.

I'm super excited about going to my (male) cousin's wedding tomorrow night for several reasons.
1. It's a wedding, and who doesn't love those.
2. The bride is supposedly walking down the aisle to Sexy Back.
3. The bridesmaids are wearing "any black dress" and red converse. Seriously. Any black dress. As long as it's black and a dress. I just can't wait-- and there are like 6-8 bridesmaids.
4. Sexy. Back.
5. There's going to be barbeque.
6. My baby is going to wear the cutest outfit!

My boss' fiancee walked down to "The Way You Make Me Feel" by Michael Jackson. And she had her two little dogs in the wedding. AND my boss ripped off her dress for the reception during the first dance and she was wearing a white tutu underneath. With pink coverse.
I thought it was adorable.

This thread just makes me laugh... the main topics are Vegas and church, I love how we managed to get that in one conversation. And yes now all I want to do now is take a trip to Vegas, but maybe a trip to church before that. I can go either way on church services it just depends on my mood, its why I like churches that offer both services so I can choose what works for me on that day.
I am sooo happy it is Friday! My DH got home at midnight last night so it was great to get to wake up with him next to me. Its tough being in a new city and him being gone all week. But this is the last Friday he will be home in the morning because from now on he doesnt get home til Friday evening.
Also, looking forward to GTG today!!!!
