Do you like your first name?
Re: Do you like your first name?
I actually love my name.
It's less common and weirdly spelled, but I'm named after my Uncle Chris and my Grandpa Stan (which is the reasoning for the weird spelling) and they are two of my favorite people in the whole world. I don't mind having to spell it out for people, and I've never been one of those people who gets irrationally irritated when someone spells it wrong.
Also; it's Kristan.
My name is Audrey and I used to haaaaate it. I even made a speech in high school about how it was a terrible name- fit for a turtle at best. I wanted a name like tiffany or brittany. Or my all-time favorite name in childhood- candy. Eesh!
Since then I've learned to love it, and feel like I've grown into it a bit.
Today Instead of Working
i love my name. however, i hate the nickname that people automatically give me. i posted about this before, actually--why, when people ask me my name, do they just call me something else? i once had a guy ask, after i told him my name was pamela, "is 'pam' okay?" is it that much harder to get the two extra syllables out? if i had said my name was veronica, would he have asked, "is 'ver' okay?"
i saw a post somewhere on here about baby names where the poster was asking about my name, and apparently my name is gross and outdated. hahaha i never realized there was so much name-hate for pamela.
Not particularly. I have a double name but my "nn" has always been the second name and I share my first name with my mother. It's just confusing and someone once told me I have a "nun name". My "nn" is just ok. It's not offensive but was super popular in the 80s.
I love it. It's so me.
Now only if Americans would trust that I know how to pronounce it.
I love my name, first and middle. I like that my name is different. I kind of think my married name sounds movie star-ish.
I'm not going to type out my name, because I'm pretty sure I'm the only one on the planet with my spelling. Its super You-nique. Thanks Ma.
I hated my 9 letter name when I was learning to write in grade school. It sucked. My nickname is Mo. I am totally a Mo, more so than my real name. My youngest sister and my nieces are the only people that call me by my full name. And my nieces only say it because they hang out with that sister when they're here. My boss even calls me Mo. I rarely introduce myself by my full name unless I'm interviewing. And even then, its awkward as hell to hear/say.
Sometimes, I respond to Mo (Moe)*.
No lie.
It's weird. THIS IS WHAT THE INTERNETS has done to me.
When Speedy and I met, she kept calling me Moe and I responded.
The end
*Must be said that my name is far from Mo or any derivative thereof.
