Friday Chit chat?

Any takers?

I have a slight AW: grades came out today for summer 1 classes, and I made an A in my bio class and I couldn't be happier. Definitely started off my weekend well.

Unfortunately that grade isn't calculated into the GPA that the nursing program will look at when I apply because it was just a pre-req for the class I'm taking now, and I knew that, but I wanted that A for myself because that was not an easy class, and I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it.  Big Smile

Anyway, that's all I got.

I'm feeling much better today.  Still lingering sinus crap, but the antibiotics are working!  YAY

  • Glad you're feeling better Amanda!

  • Summer - Didn't know you were going to nursing school! DH is finishing up nursing school. He is already a paramedic so there is a paramedic to RN bridge that he is doing. We are VERY ready for him to be done. Congrats on your good grade!

    Congrats Sarah!

    Glad your feeling better Amanda!

And BOO on Grey's. I kinda missed A LOT of it this past season, guess I should see if Netflix has it or get Hulu and catch up.

  • Crystal,

I'm not in the nursing program yet. I'm applying in January. I'm taking the pre-reqs they require before you can apply. Since I already have a bachelors, all I needed were the sciences.

And all of Grey's seasons are streaming on Netflix! H and I are catching up right now. I stopped watching about season 3, so we are caching up. They have up through the end of 6!

  • I'm probably the minority, but I think it is time for Grey's to end.   I forced myself through this past season, but it's really like beating a dead horse.

It is sad, I agree....but it is time.

Dislike! Haha. I loved last season.

  • I liked all of the last season of Greys EXCEPT that musical that was awful.
  • Harry Potter was good, some things I wished were more true to the books, some things were more awesome because they weren't.

Not pregnant this month, just my body effing with me. It is what it is.

I was dragging ass this morning due to HP, so I got a non-fat, no-whip, light java chip frappucino. It's delicious.

ETA: I also realized this morning I like the Nikki Minaj song "Super Bass" - I'm not sure how I feel about liking it. :)

I have always loved the show, but it pains me to say that I agree with you. I do want to catch up on this past season though, but I just had a hard time getting into it for some reason this year.

  • I'm a Grey's fan too but actually stopped watching in the middle of season six. So, I caught up this summer.

Netflix has up until season six on streaming but you'll have to go to Hulu to get season seven AND you'll have to subscribe to Huluplus. However, I think you can get a free week of Huluplus upon initial subscription.

A much as I enjoyed Grey's in the past (I missed most of this season) I agree with you.

  • Tiffany?!  Et tu brute?!?

I think Grey's is AWESOME this season!!  I had a hard time with it when the whole "Denny is dead but Izzy sees him and makes him real" thing... but once they rebounded from that, I think it's been awesome.  I hope it goes on even longer now!

Ah, I was wondering how we could watch season 7 on Hulu. So they have the whole season on Hulu plus?

Because H and I started over from season 1 and have been watching them all on Netflix, so now I've forgotten what's going on currently. Ha.

That Izzie storyline was a bit much, especially when she was having sex with him.  I didn't get it.

Summer, congrats on the A! :)

Sarah, best of luck at your new job. :) PS - Did you get my response on FB about the question you had?

Amanda, I am glad that you are feeling better.

Leslie, sorry to hear that this wasn't the month, but I hope soon! I don't know if you have the Taking Charge of Your Fertility Book or not, but let me know if you want to borrow mine or if you have questions about charting if you haven't been yet, if you are interested, I would be happy to share what I know.

I got some exciting news at my mid year review at work. First off, the review itself went really well, and my manager asked me about my plans regarding work once the baby comes, and I wasn't ready to discuss it with him, bc I didn't know what his reaction would be. I asked him instead if he could provide me with the guidelines/policies before I could meet with him in the near future to give him my plans. He said ok, but then a few min. later he came back to the subject and asked if I could it have it my way, what I would do regardless of the policies. I hesitated but asked what his thoughts were on me going part time, and he said, he had no problem what so ever and wanted me to be happy. He said I could work as little as 20 hours a week. This was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders to know that they are ok with this. :)

  • Thanks ladies!

Kathy, that's great news about your work.  I can imagine the relief you feel!

I don't know, I just don't see it going anywhere I guess. They have already lived through every outlandish tragedy there could possibly be. I just think it is good for shows to go out on a high note, and not continue until they are forced to die. (*cough* The Office)

Thanks for the offer. I actually have already read it and have been using OPKs and natural fertility signs. I seem to be doing everything I can to maximize our chances, it's just not working out for us as quickly as it seems to have worked out for most others. Soon I will have been trying long enough to qualify for me official entry to be a Bitter Betty over on TTGP. Lol. Kidding...sort of.

I am glad to hear that your work was receptive, that's awesome!!

  • Kathy, that's awesome that your company is letting you go PT after the baby! I'm sure you're thrilled!

This is totally random, but kind of an epiphany I had this morning:

I was having a conversation with my friend this morning about how our birthdays are both coming up, and I'll be 27 and how our 20's have gone by so quickly.

But then I started thinking, you know my 20's haven't been all that fabulous. Yes I've had some awesome milestones like graduating college, getting married, etc. And of course I have had a lot of fun. But in general, when I think of my 20's, I think of lots of instability, ups and downs, moving around, and heartbreaks. Mainly instability.

A lot of people dread turning 30. But I can honestly say, I'm so excited about turning 30 in a few years, because I really think my 30's are going to be awesome. I think it's going to be when my life finally calms down a little, and I find that stability I've been looking for. I'll hopefully have just graduated and become an RN and will finally be in a career I'm passionate about, H and I will be settled somewhere in a house, and we won't have to worry about money anymore.  We can start a family, and just do the things we want to do as a family together.

When people say the 20's are all about "finding yourself", I completely understand that now. Because I think I've done more of that in the last 2-3 years than I ever expected to, and I don't think it's stopping any time soon.

I really didn't intend for that to be so deep.

  • Leslie- I am sorry this isnt the month. (I didnt catch on right away when you said your monthly visitor.  You dont have to answer this but I know you are working hard at it, is Randall doing anything to increase your chances?  Honestly, I am not sure what there is to do but it just seems like it shouldnt all fall on the woman.

    Kathy- Yay for awesome employers!

Summer- I COMPLETELY agree but I have felt that way since 21 I just want to be done with my 20's and get on with what will hopefully be a stable life with some normalcy to it.

  • I'm sorry, Leslie.  I know your disappointment, several times over.  Hugs.

PS:  I'm going to message you on FB about something in the movie last night.

  • imagebobbileighb:

And it's not just the instability part, I just look at how much I've changed from 23/24-now and think holy crap. I realize you change throughout your entire life, but I think so many changes happen in your 20's. That's why I was always so hesitant to settle down, get married, and have kids in my 20's.

Well, oops, I got married. But that's why I'm hesitant to have kids right now. I still feel like I have a lot of growing up and changing left to do. I know to a lot of girls 27 is "old" and my eggs are probably rotting, but I feel like I'll be a better mother at 30 or 31, than I would be now.
