Almond - he won't care. Get him a cake and some balloons and take pics of you guys around him with maybe your immediate family there and it will be more than enough.
OR take cupcakes and party hats to his school and let them have a little celebration there with his friends. =D

He can hang with my husband.
At 2 he said that he and BIL would go to Costco and Kroger so we didn't have to drag the kids around. Part of that trip was to get stuff to make dinner tonight.
He just called me. They've been gone for 2 hours, are still at Costco and haven't been to Kroger. I'm livid. Maybe we'll get to eat by 10 tonight.
There is also a 3 inch long wasp in G's playroom that is lunging at me whenever I try to kill it.

kreeper--congratulations!! And how great that you get to take the 2 weeks to relax a little and prepare.
almond--we didn't have 3rd birthday parties for either of our kids. With Hannah's, we had only been here for 6 months or so, and she hadn't started school so we didn't really have anyone to invite. But for Sam's, it was total procrastination and laziness. But we did it up with just us, with balloons and streamers and cake and gifts, and he loved it. Really, it's no big deal.
we didn't have a party for M when he turned 2 either. we did go to sea world, which was nice. the thing i feel bad about is we didn't even get a cake or anything for him to blow a candle out. not even at home. oh well. he didn't notice and is not likely to remember.
in other news, i am sick sick sick. i don't know if a sinus infection has ever plowed me over like this before. 101.7 fever, losing my voice and just feeling like crap-o-la.
DH just told me he doesn't know how to work the dishwasher.
Well I feel better that I'm not alone. It doesn't make me want to pummel him with the bottle of dishwasher detergent any less though.

Really, what happened? We have always had the best service from them until just recently. Now it's been hit or miss and it makes me sad.
Two days in a row the same thing happened where I would tell someone what was needed and they would transfer me to someone else. I was just trying to add a line to our account and had to be transferred through 4-5 people to do so. Each day it took over an hour on the phone. We also have service with Sprint & Verizon and I have never had that issue.

DH is reading an arthur book to Addie. He just read, "Arthur has one blue ball." really loudly I think for my benefit.
hahahahaha!
And, um, I need to tell DH about that book. They have a friend they nicknamed Uniball Paul after he had a testicle removed. He would probably enjoy giving him that book since they always talk about how their wives don't put out enough.
And on a non-perverted note - I love your sig pic. When I saw it for the first time this morning it made me smile really big!

Thanks! i can't figure out why it keeps showing up in various sizes.
All I want for tonight is:
To wake up, soaking wet in a nasty pool of my own perspiration. This will mean my 101.7 fever has broken.
To cough violently so that one giant, lumpy, green ball of blood tinged snot flies out of my mouth. This will mean that the offending wad which is currently infecting my sinuses will be gone.
I would rather go through those 2 unpleasant experiences simultaneously than feel like this for one more day.
