Re: TGIF-R
Okay...time to start tackling the mountain of reading I have for next week since I'll likely get next to nothing accomplished over the weekend.
It seems that the only place I get any real work accomplished is the library and I don't bother to show up here on the weekends.
Molly, are you building that yourself?
What color did you pain the playroom?
Ooh, really? This is good to know. Yes, cost can often be a reason why I don't take care of eye issues in a more timely fashion. Sad.
Then I might head to your recommended ophthalmologist, Kasa. Any particular doctor there you'd suggest?
ETA: And do you need a pre-authorization from a doctor?
Good luck with your reading!
He is definitely not crummy and also not a cornea specialist.
Not that those two are related at all, just two facts.
LOL, thanks. I'm sure it will all be clear as mud.
I am most definitely going to try! It should be really easy. Just annoying because I'm going to have to bring the wood to my dad's house to use his table saw. And I have to borrow some countersink drill bits.
I painted the room Behr Caribe on top (the same color I used to T's nursery on the bottom...I looove that color) and chalkboard paint in a shade of "Peapod" (lime-ish green) on the bottom. I'm going to add a chair rail in the room.
It's really bold and different. I hope it grows on me. I think paint jobs always look better when they are finished too, and I'm still working on the first coat. We shall see.
Well... the cost issue is a double-edged sword. Office appointments and consultations are cheaper, because they're billed to medical. But, if they go so far as to do any procedures (like inserting punctal plugs or cautery), they charge a huge amount, and for me - my deductible applies, so then I'm paying hundreds of dollars.
But, I don't think that's a reason to not get checked out. You should take care of yourself! You could always ask for an estimate in advance and figure out how it will work with your insurance, and then consider your options.
My primary doctor there was Dr. Chelsky (who's nice), who is actually only an optometrist, but she's a specialist. I've also seen Dr. Verdier (opthalmalogist) himself, who's great. If you go there, I strongly recommend getting an appointment first thing in the morning. Their scheduling sucks, and if you have an afternoon appointment, you'll be sitting in their waiting room for an hour, because they get so backed up. Not cool.
Your DIY skills continue to impress me. You should have your own show on HGTV. I think I could learn a lot!
LOL. No.
I just copy other people. Ana White has simple and cheap instructions for all sorts of cool things. I'm using her to make the table and chairs.
I want to get it for the girls for Christmas but I really dont want to spend the 13-18 for it so I am seeing if it will go down before all the madness starts. Whatever gift cards I get for my bday etc this month I am going to use towards Christmas for Mike and the girls. There really isn't anything that I need or want. I am just going to ask for $ from Mike to get a new pair of jeans and an oil change. What awesome gifts. LOL
My optometrist at the time referred me, because I told her I wanted her to refer me to a specialist. I don't know if they require it or not, though.
Copying someone else or not, it's seriously impressive. I would never consider actually building something on my own! (Your huge splinter is perhaps one reason - that sent shivers all down my legs.)
I find the Fashion/Beauty board to be entertaining. I enjoy some of their discussions about clothes, but I give the side-eye to a lot of others -- eyelash extensions, boob jobs, $400 purses, $30 Chanel nailpolish...
Who are these people?!
I love the paint combo! Can't wait to see pictures!!
Thank you both!
And yeah, that splinter seriously hurt(s).
I know these people. They're all over the other boards too. Same nutso people, just different nutso extravagances.
