SA Wednesday

I'm in a pretty good mood.  Laziness however is pushing me to the brink.

Re: SA Wednesday

  • DH got some extra browny points this morning, he got up before me, had coffee ready, and walked the dog so I could sleep extra 30 minutes!!!

  • Am I crazy for being excited that unleaded gas is $3.19/gallon?!!!  I couldn't believe it.
  • FIL was supposed to be coming up tomorrow night.  Last night we found out he's coming tonight.  The house is a disaster.  Not that I was going to go crazy with the cleaning but at least give me some time to pick a few things up.

Tiffany- I'm just catching up on OL Tuesday and I used Make-Up Forever when I did my own make up for the wedding.  Since you are only using it for this one occasion and don't want to buy the whole shebang, you could go to a Sephora and they'll give you samples.  Not all Sephora stores carry it so I would call before you go- I did a whole lot of running around to different stores and wasted a lot of time.

  • I feel like a broken record talking about bootcamp, but it's kiiiind of what's going on in my life right now.

This morning, I was introduced to side planking, and quickly wanted to die. (I know you warned me, Leslie). But I then discovered that everything's easier to bear when you're cheering. I did stuff I really didn't think I could do when I was more concerned with cheering other people on. Distraction maybe? Whatever the cause, I know I'll be more of a cheerleader from now on.

Thank you!!!  I will definitely give this a try.  I was not looking forward to paying $30+ for makeup for one day. :)

I have to make 100 cake pops tonight.  Dipped, drizzled, bagged, and bow tied.   It's going to be a loong night.

It's hard to believe we think anything less than $3.50 seems cheap now!!!! Which area you have seen the 3.19? I think it's still in the 3.30s around me.

  • I know in west FW it's $3.19! Even with it lowering it feels like more and more people are riding the train. It's getting packed on there now a days.

I watched New girl last night and thought it was really cute. The sisters are very similar and you can totally tell they are related.

    Agreed completely!

Also, I'm going to need to see the Ides of March.  Hello, eye candy.

  • TX-Bride, like Deepthi mentioned... I am west of Ft. Worth!  I hope it's a trend in the right direction, which is lower and lower!  :)~

100 cake balls... wowza have fun!  Take a pic to show us too!

McG, your boot camp posts crack me up!  Keep em' coming and keep up the good work. :)

  • I don't feel very well today.  I don't know why.

I really liked New Girl, too.  Love Zooey Deschanel! (And Deepthi, you know my love of Bones and Emily D, too.)

I'm with you Tiffany, Ides of March is on my must see list.

Chelsea - also music might help.  If I go for a run, I'm completey run down after 10 minutes, but if I am listening to my iPod blasting BEPs, then I can run for 30 minutes.  I have no idea why.  It distracts me, I guess.  Also, I think it has something to do with the fact that I can't hear myself breathe, so I don't think I'm tired.  Haha - weird, I know.

  • Amanda I don't think it's crazy. I was thrilled at $3.19 but I went to Tom Thumb and I had 20cent off so it was $2.99.  I took a picture and sent it to DH I was so flippin excited!

Tiffany-100 cake balls?  That's a lot but wrapped up too.  Good luck!

I'm excited.  I get to have dinner with my dad tonight.  It will just be me and him.  I can't tell you the last time I had dinner just me and my dad.  DH even told me he'd pick up SD from school so I could go home and change and get to dinner and not worry about anythign else.

He is also planning date night both nights this weekend.  He said he wants to give me a "me" weekend where all he does is concentrate on me.  I was shocked.  I'm excited!  I know Saturday we are going to Lewisville Western Days to see Pat Green but no idea what we are doing Friday.  Maybe my melt down Sunday really did make him think!

    UM, yes. Oh man.

I didn't get to see the Glee premiere or New Girl last night because we were working... but I'm planning on seeing both!

Also, for those of you that aren't friends with me on FB, our photographer sneak peek'd our family pictures last night! I'm SO thrilled with them so far, despite the weather and the outfit crisis and the whiny children. Here's the link : http://laurenclarksblog.com/

Those look great!! I saw some on fb.

Tiffany... If you have reject ones or ones that don't make the cut from the 100 you are planning to do.. I'll gladly take them off your hands! I need to learn how to make cake balls. This is a definite thing on my need to learn list.

Lacy, trust me I know! I'm so freaking excited to have Bones come back! I saw a preview, man I was jumping up and so happy DH made fun of me all day about it.

  • Last night I did a weights workout.  I know I need strength training because it makes me stronger and more muscle burns more calories in the long run, BUT seeing the lower calorie burn on my heart rate monitor makes me feel less motivated.  I think tomorrow (another weights day) I am going to take my jump rope and do some tabata intervals to get my heart rate high so I can up the calorie burn and build the muscle.

Also try closing your eyes.  Obviously you wouldn't be able to do this with all the exercises (I would have a few broken bones if I did) but especially when you are on the floor.  It blocks what you are actually doing out of your mind and it gets over with quicker for me.

  • I really wish I lived in Fort Worth. Or at least somewhere slightly closer to my job. This hour commute (one-way) is really killing me. I have been listening to NPR, which was good for awhile - but now it just completely depresses me. A girl can only take so much talk about recession, unemployment and war.

I've been adding in weights 2-3 times a week for the last couple of months. I have always been hesitant to give up any cardio time, but I have seen improvements in my calorie burn not just during my workouts, but all day. It took a couple weeks to start seeing the difference, but I'm excited about it.

Those are both really great suggestions. I'll try that tomorrow.

I will say, working from home and working lots of Saturdays had kind of stolen that "YAY! It's Friday!" feeling from me. But not having Bootcamp on Fridays has brought it back. :)

  • You guys make me feel like a lazy bum lately.

I was religious about my workouts for years.  Lately, all I do is run...and even that can be sporadic.

I need to get back into the groove.

I think we need to switch jobs or places. I live in FW work in Dallas. The commute is killer, but I couldn't imagine driving it everyday.

Strength training is so important for women.  Not just for weight loss but for health when you're older.  Also remember that muscles take up less room and weigh more than fat.  Back in my 20's before I worked out, I weighed 114 but was a size 6.  Now I weigh 120 and am a size 4.

    Totally worth it.

Fantastic idea!! Of course, then DH would have to make the drive from FW to Richardson.....but small price to pay :0)

I wasn't supposed to drive it every day -- it was only going to be three days a week. But lately it's been 5-6 days a week. Too much!!! I am lucky however, and don't normally have to drive during rush hour - and it seems like I'm going against traffic. So I think you might have it worse....

  • I feel so relaxed and rested! 11 hours of sleep was def. needed! :)  <3 days off!

Anyone watch DWTS or Biggest Loser last night?

  • I think I'm done with FB.  I absolutely hate it now.
  • Anna and Stephie, I know its beneficial and thats why I do it and I love the strength I feel its just hard when 30 min of cardio burns 400+ calories and 30 min of weights burns 200ish.  I think adding in cardio intervals will help with the mind game on the calorie thing.

Is it because of the new top stories and layout?  I'm not digging it either.

  • imagestephiehall:

    Agree.

On the one hand... it's free. So I can't complain much.

But on the other hand, I do NOT understand why this random program keeps picking and choosing who's updates I see. I don't give two flips about the layout... just stop messing with who's info is in my newsfeed. I friended someone for a reason, and if I don't want to see them, I'll hide them. I'm a big girl, I don't need FB to make these decisions for me!
