Come on in, ladies

Re: Come on in, ladies

  • Bay, that is an awesome idea. So thoughtful!
  • I'm starting to think the internet in general just sucks. TK with its posts out of order, facebook for not telling me about comments on posts, and blogger/google reader for re-adding all of the blogs I unsubscribed to.

I'm very rationally irritated at the moment. A "friend" from high school just posted that they're looking to get rid of their dog because she's pregnant. I really want to punch people that think this way. Especially since she runs a daycare. Dog + children aged 1-7ish = okay? Dog + baby = screw you doggie, find a new home? Doesn't compute in my brain.

I have another current irritation.  Maybe some of you have some suggestions to help this one?

I have NO clue what to get my dad for Christmas and its making me crazy. He's so hard to shop for because he loves to shop himself and just buys himself whatever he wants/needs. He likes astronomy and his boat and booze.

I have no advice but I feel your frustration. My sister is the same way. It was so annoying. I finally just bought her some pajamas, slippers, and other random crap so I could just be done with it. It didn't help that whenever I asked her what she wanted she said, "Oh. Nothing really".  I was just like "***, tell me something. Anything!"  She didn't so she's getting pajamas.

Dad'll do that too.  And if he actually tells us something he wants, he usually ends up buying it for himself before Christmas anyway! -_-

This is totally my FI, he told me that he wanted a new watch for Christmas and I was excited because he finally had something on his list and then a week ago he sends me a pic message of the new watch he bought... you gotta be kidding me! Back to the drawing board.

And in the dad department, he always says he doesn't want gifts and will give us no idea what to get him. So we fly blind on that one too.

  • If he likes bourbon, Maker's Mark has a newish, slightly pricier version, called 46. It has a higher proof, but it's so smooth and delicious.

Oh, and if anyone buys me whiskey stones, I'll probably squeal. I've been dropping that hint to my H for weeks, but he's a wuss and likes to mix his bourbon with Diet Coke and lots of ice and doesn't see the value.

Can I do a regular irritation?  My skin looks better on my week off then when I am on the pill.  I think I need to switch.

    Yep, you probably do.

Do you exfoliate and moisturize?  That works WAY better for me than anything else.

Also, thanks guys for helping me sort out a gift for Dad.  I was a little worried that alcohol wasn't a great "Dad" gift, but I feel better about it now!

I use Cetaphil. Maybe I will make an appointment.

  • Damnit. Now I have like 4 boards I have to check for new conversations. I can't keep up.

I'm trying to finish these last 2 projects so I can go home. I'm so tired, my brain and fingers are just starting to stop working. Or maybe they already have, I can't tell.

  • MUN, maybe a set of different beer glasses? Like the specialty ones that go with the different types of beers?

    (Like these)

Also, J&K, that is really annoying. I would start writing back to Mrs. Grandma MaidenName, but that's a little passive aggressive...

  • Edie - I hear ya.  My skin always has been finicky... and now that the cold weather is finally here I feel dry and icky.  And my lips are chapped like whoa no matter how much chapstick, etc. I put on them. Sadface.

Yup! That is my sister. I'm happy she can afford to buy whatever she wants whenever she wants it but it's Christmas! Save some for us or you won't be getting a present.

I hate that! I have a FB friend who recently took their cat to the pound because she found out she was having a baby! Maybe it's nuts but I just feel like it's trading in one baby for another, but I know some people don't feel like that way about their pets.

Gah!  So frustrating.  My mom usually gives him the gift that she already purchased anyway.  And then just looks at him like "What.  You shouldn't have bought yourself stuff a week before Christmas."  It's pretty awesome.

  • Also, I will never trade my cat in for my child. They are both staying. (when I have a child)

  • So Sam and I are going to Portland tomorrow for one night.  And I am trying to find brunch places there.  Sometimes I wish Google just told me where to go rather than me looking around at lots of different places.  Their "Best Brunch Spot" has like no food that Sam or I would eat.

lbarr and eorea, do you think it's because of your bc?

I'm not on bc. I'm pretty sure it's because I have seborrhoeic dermatitis so that is probably why. I'll be making a dr.appointment soon to find out for sure.

Exactly. I felt like commenting that I'm going to have a hell of a time finding somewhere to live with 2 cats (when our lease is up) but getting rid of one or both is just not an option whatsoever!

This too.  I don't understand the thinking of, "Oh I'm having a kid now.  Time to get rid of the pet".

  • I will admit I do not want a big dog.  I'd rather have a small dog that can poo in the yard so I don't have to bundle the kid up for a walk.

  • This girl on FB just had her third child. She is getting rid of her cat. The next day she posted a picture of a dog. "The newest member of our family. He'll be home as soon as we found a home for Steve". Steve is her cat.

So she is pretty much getting rid of one animal because she had a baby and wants a new dog. It pisses me off so much.

  • Special - I got FI whiskey stones for Christmas. I really hope he likes them! And I hope you get some too!

Y'all. I feel like death. My head is so congested and my entire body aches. I really can't be sick right now. And there's nothing on tv. And I'm trying to recreate an outfit on pinterest but I can't find the right sweater.

I want a big dog, but I understand what you mean. Some days you just want to let the dog go in the back yard, and not get the stroller out and etc. and then walk until they are ready to go.

I have a friend with two kids, three cats, and two dogs.

How did you not comment? I feel like my blood is boiling all over again just thinking about that.

  • That sucks, Rachers. I hope you feel better soon!

  • Edie - It might be, I was on an awesome one awhile back (awesome as in I had no period)  but my face became so oily and broke out unbelievably bad.  I looked like someone during puberty.  I switched because my face got so bad but now it's the opposite problem among many other annoying problems, so it could very well be the BC.

Also, my doggies stay when I have kids.  They are my first "kids."  It makes me so angry when people buy pets then realize it wasn't a good idea and just bring them to shelters.  Some reasons are legitimate for doing this but most aren't.

Wow yeah that would be piss me off! Poor Steve :(
