FRIDAY CONFESSIONS

Re: FRIDAY CONFESSIONS

  • @RiverPlate , I love Kate Nash!

My confession:  My mom gave DH and I UofM tickets for tomorrow as a surprise but I'm considering not going and not telling her.  I'm just so exhausted.

  • One of my good friends is getting married this weekend. I'm so excited for her, but Collin has been teething all week and I'm freaking exhausted. I'm dreading going to this wedding. Also, my vanity is showing because I've put on about 10 pounds and now I have to see all of my beautiful skinny friends all glammed up.

  • There are a few concerts coming up here and none of my friends listen to the same kind of music as I do and nobody wants to go with me.

Anyone want to see ZZ Ward or Kate Nash?

I really like Kate Nash!  I'm sorry you don't have anyone to go with you!

  • I don't think a person can actually call herself (or himself.  In this case it's a woman I went to college with) a bookworm if all she ever reads are trashy kindle romance novels and her favorite book is 50SoG.  Every time I see her post one of those bookworm memes I want to shout at her that she can't call herself that until she actually reads something that doesn't involve bodice ripping every other page.

Dead has to do with dying of cuteness overload or something to that effect.  As to junewhatevs...I have no idea either.  I've never been one of the cool kids.

  • I must have missed the memo that we could be late to work today because it's raining SO BAD OUTSIDE. I'm the only one in my entire department here right now. It makes me wish I had taken my sweet time this morning and not left early like a responsible adult because I knew it would be a slow drive.

Also - the coffee pot did not auto brew this morning. Now I have to WAIT for caffeine. Talk about a first world problem.
  • I'm addicted to Plants v. Zombies.

I can't wait to play the sequel. It's only available through ITunes right now but I haven't tried it yet. I hope it comes out in more platforms.

I have a job offer.  I'm excited, but a little sad to be leaving my SAHW lifestyle.  Even H has said he enjoys how much I get done when I'm not working.

That has to be a tough situation to be in. You will be great at your new job!

  • DH's step brother is getting married tomorrow and the rehearsal dinner is tonight. It doesn't start until 7 which is when we start putting Julia to bed. We aren't going to go because we don't want her to have a complete meltdown and I don't feel the least bit of guilt about it. MIL is being a total witch about it only because she wants to see the baby but if we do go, she'll make rude comments about my fussy baby and how SIL's baby is soo good. I'm so tired of the judgement.

I got so mad when I found out it was iTunes only. Android is a much bigger market, so why alienate them?! The least they could have done is released it at the same time. By the time Android gets it, I'll have forgotten all about it.

  • My first client for the day called and cancelled and I'm so happy because I get to stay at home for another few hours and goof off online. She does this to me all the time. Wants the earliest appointment time I have and then I'm awake and leaving home for nothing because she calls to cancel.

Can you implement a cancellation policy so that you get paid for your time and trouble, like they do with doctors offices?  You know, 24 hours notice or you will be billed x amount?

You confessed something. You did not ask a question. No question mark.

  • My younger sister is going through a divorce and has been living with us since May.  While I love her and am trying to be sympathetic, I want my spare room back!  She doesn't have a plan on when she's moving out and I think I need to have that conversation with her this weekend.

It's part of my clinical practicum for the master's degree I'm working on. So I work at a family therapy office near my school. They don't have any policies in place and I'm not allowed to make one on my own. :(

I actually feel this way about all animals, in general.

Yeah, I definitely give the side-eye to people who don't like animals. And, since there has been a lot of discussion about judging this morning, I totally judge people who were animal lovers before having kids and then can't stand them after having a baby. My SIL is so guilty of this. Drives me nuts.

You can judge me then. I'm not a pet person at all. AT ALL. And, as a mom, I can see how you could not like pets after a kid. Cleaning up after kids is a lot of work. Enough that there isn't always a lot of you left over to care for something else. IMO

@sassypants527 - Knowing what junewhatevs means is pretty much the exact opposite of being cool. It's another way of saying "whatever" which I thought was glaringly obvious but I guess not. It's something my friends and I say to each other, and in the grand tradition of Gretchen Weiner, it was my fetch and I was trying to make it happen. As I said, it's probably the least cool thing about me, but junewhatevs.

Yep. I pester them to implement this sort of policy but it's not my practice. Once I have my own it will be the first thing I set up haha.
