Well, that's supposed to be an open mouth. Oh well.
to the moms of the crazy frustrating kids, i can attest that the whole "don't let them get to you, you are the adult" is an amazing tool once you swallow your urge to scream bloody murder/cause bodily harm and go with it.
DH and the kids' mom went this route and were very, very consistent. Seriously, amazing. Connor had incredibly beautiful big puppy dog brown eyes. It wasn't easy, but it was worth it.
Tori... what a little sweet bug. I wish everyone had a spirit like that : )

Sometimes the ignorance and asshattiness (that's totally a word) takes my mouthwords away.
Um, I expect an IM stat.
that's great news that she's recovering! but i hear ya on dealing with someone with depression {hugs}
FKB - tori's story made me smile :-)
Thanks. I am not knocking depression or meaning to sound like "oh brother, that again - get over it". I battle it too and I know I am not pleasant when it is getting ugly, but in all honesty, hers makes mine look like child's play. I can remember one summer growing up when she did not get out of bed all summer except to use the bathroom/shower. It was rough.
FKB, what a sweet kiddo you have!

I just made those creamy chicken taquitos with my newly acquired corn tortillas, and they ROCKED. For some reason, I'm usually turned off by foods made with cream cheese, unless they're desserts or dips. But this one was really good.
Next...cheese enchiladas. I seriously feel like I hit the jackpot.
i didn't read it that way at all. i was commiserating. it's extremely frustrating - you want to help but there's really nothing you can do to help.
I didn't think you did! I was re-reading what I wrote and realized it sounded kind of like that.
Nanner, this is a question I have about Singapore. How hard is it to get corn tortillas there? Or masa harina? I can't imagine going for years without easy access to corn tortillas. And can you get good tequila?
I'm not a tequila drinker, so I haven't really paid attention to it. However, I know there's a restaurant on the river that sells specialty tequilas by the bottle. Just a warning, though, that alcohol is really expensive here. Like a bottle of Jack Daniels is about $60. That'd be about $45 US.
I had never seen corn tortillas here, anywhere--and I looked in every grocery store and specialty store I knew of. Just a couple of days ago, I finally found mention of a place that specializes in mexican products, and they sell them. (Of course, they are nowhere near my apt. at all.) $14 for a bag of 40. But I just remembered, a gluten-free friend of mine told me that they have a bit of wheat flour in them, but that it didn't seem to bother her. However, they also sell masa harina if you want to make them. I also found masa harina at our regular grocery store--they have Bob's Red Mill brand. They actually carry a bunch of Bob's Red Mill stuff, so there's a good selection of gluten-free flours and things.
If you want any other info on Sing, send me a PM and I'll do what I can to help.
Sweet, thanks! I can't think of any other questions at the moment (tequila was my main concern), but I know I'll have millions of them as our move date approaches.
I didn't read it that way either Harmony. I totally get it too, I think my mom has battled depression a lot of her life too, but she doesn't really acknowledge it. She has diabetes now and is not coping with the diet very well, expect the holidays are going to be hard for her. It makes me sad for her. So hugs to you and your mom.

I wear some sort of "suck it all in" garment most of the time when I am trying to look nice.
now i feel like i should be wearing some sort of suckin garment more often.
does anyone else ever get spanx-rash on your inner thighs?
my photography blog
No ***, me too. I don't currently own any. Not because I don't need them but because I'm cheap and in the past they've always made me sweat. Then I look svelte and sexy and sweaty... which pretty much ruins the look. And yeah, then I get heat rash and want to rip my skin off.
the wrath of spanx-rash is enough to make me only wear them when it is ABSOLUTELY necessary.
i wish there were arm-spanx...lol.
